"Buddhist Twelve Toutuo Sutra": It is because of Buddhism, because of Taoism, not for life. For example, if you keep horses and pigs, don't count any more, but eat. To practice Buddhism, we should abandon the body's greed for love and secularity, but examine our body and mind, work hard and practice bravely. The so-called "keeping good health and practicing Buddhism" means recognizing falsehood as true and not knowing falsehood; The excuse is the Tao, but it is actually the body.
Old monk Xu Yun: Food, clothing, housing and transportation are bitter things. Don't let them get around you. When the Buddha first started teaching, he spent three clothes and a bowl on a monk, ate once a day and lived under a tree for one night. Although it lightens the fatigue of food, clothing, housing and transportation, he still can't live without it. Monks can't be as busy as laymen, just for these three words and for life and death. Because we need to borrow fakes to fix the truth, we should have food, clothing and shelter. But the matter of monasticism is gone for the time being, like a dead man. As the old saying goes, "Those who are good at Taoism should never leave for a moment." Therefore, Taoist priests should not take advantage of the situation.
