1932, in Tai Ji Chuan Essentials II written by Chen, there is a description of his father: "First, he was afraid of recovery and began to learn from it, and then he learned from (1809- 187 1) after he succeeded."
Chen Ziming's father, Chen Fuyuan, first learned the "old shelf" from Chen Gengyun, and then learned the "new shelf" (small shelf) from Chen Zhongtang. The "new rack" is transformed from the "old rack".
Chen Fuyuan studied the "old rack" in Chen Gengyun's Biography of Chen Taiji, referring to the "old rack with thirteen potentials" in the "two instruments" (not the current "old rack with seventy-four potentials all the way").
The boxing score of Taiji Zhuan (that is, 13 folds) in Chen's Instrument Group Chentang, in which "planting a fist (the original note: there is a brocade here in the old fist)", the corresponding "covering the head with 13 strokes" is "brocade".
It can be seen that the "new frame" is adapted from the "old boxing".
1972 After Chenjiagou, the "new frame" refers to the boxing frame handed down by Chen Fake Chen Zhaokui.
Zhao Chen Pi died on 1972, and then Chen Zhaokui returned to Chenjiagou to teach boxing. Chenjiagou people call Zhao Chen Pi's teaching "old shelf" and Chen Zhaokui's teaching "new shelf".
The boxing taught by Chen Zhaokui was that Chen Fake added several moves to the old boxing frame in his later years. Some people think that it was originally created by Chen Fake, while others think that it was handed down from generation to generation by Chen Changxing. Therefore, in Chenjiagou, there was a dispute of "old rack and new rack", and there was a saying that "new rack is old rack".
