Ji Kang first discussed the effect of mental health on physical health. He compared the human body to the country and the spirit to the monarch of the country: "The spirit is to the bones, and the Jewish country has a monarch. God is in the middle, the shape is lost outside, the monarch is faint in the world, and the country is in chaos. " A person's mental health has the same influence on the body as a monarch has on the country.
Therefore, people's health care should be both physical and mental, and the focus should be psychological health care. It fully affirms the importance of mental health care to "nourish the nature and protect the spirit and feel at ease".
Ji Kang's metaphor that "the spirit is to the bone, and the country is a monarch" vividly illustrates the importance of mental health care. He also described the health-keeping method of "steaming Ganoderma lucidum, Li Quanrun, raising in the morning sun, embracing five strings, doing nothing but being complacent, being wonderful and mysterious, and forgetting to be happy before being happy", which showed that he paid attention to both psychological conditioning and physical maintenance. This health-keeping concept has great reference significance for future generations.
Ji Kang advocates that people who are good at keeping in good health should keep inner peace and nothingness, be content with spiritual monographs, reduce personal desires, be indifferent to fame and fortune, and avoid the rich flavor in diet. For example, he is "willing to be a street blacksmith", and he has the famous Dear John's Chrysanthemum Garden.
Ji Kang's specific health care method is to get rid of the desire for fame and wealth in the world, rich food, etc., so that his heart is simple and quiet, full of energy, away from sorrow and thinking. He said: "Foreign things are tired and don't exist. They are alone with wine and have no worries and thoughts."
Ji Kang also suggested taking nourishing medicine, drinking sweet spring water, bathing in the warm sunshine in the morning and listening to elegant music to achieve the realm of detachment, lightness, joy and satisfaction. Such a realm is very conducive to health and longevity.
Ji Kang warned people to pay attention to the attack of greasy taste and excessive emotions on the inside and outside of the human body: "husbands are different from men, but attackers are different; Easy to exhaust the body, but attacked by the outside world; If you are not a wooden stone, how long can you last? " Dietary imbalance and psychological imbalance are the causes of many chronic diseases; Ji Kang's epigram is to make people improve their awareness of self-care and cherish their health.
Ji Kang also stressed that health-preserving people should consciously and voluntarily maintain their health, develop good attitudes or habits, and stay away from bad temptations in order to receive good results. He pointed out that people who are good at health care know that chasing fame and fortune is harmful to the spirit, so they are indifferent to fame and fortune consciously and voluntarily, instead of being full of desires for fame and fortune, they just barely suppress their desires. He said: "Those who are good at keeping in good health and whose well-known position hurts morality suddenly quit, but they have no desire and are forced to ban."
Indifference to fame and fortune brings psychological pleasure, while compulsion to desire brings anxiety and pain. Obviously, the former is more conducive to physical and mental health than the latter. Ji Kang advocates "knowing the harm of thick taste, ignoring it, and restraining it without greed", and advocates that people regard healthy eating as a habit and a normal life, away from the temptation of thick taste diet, rather than trying to control their appetite in front of thick taste diet.
