With the improvement of material life, people begin to pay attention to health, especially the elderly choose to eat vegetarian food in order to prevent cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. It is wrong to think that not eating big fish and big meat is to bid farewell to illness and move towards health. In order to maintain the normal operation of human life activities, people need to take various vitamins and protein every day.

Because protein is synthesized from amino acids, the human body needs all kinds of amino acids. Although some vegetarian dishes can supplement protein, the kinds of amino acids synthesized in protein are single, and the protein available for human body is single, which is not enough for human body to eat normally.

Therefore, we need to supplement all kinds of protein from different ingredients, not just vegetarian. For example, chicken, duck, fish, cattle, sheep and other amino acids are different and all contain essential amino acids. On the contrary, it is impossible for the elderly to be vegetarian every day, but there will be many risks.

Increase the risk of cardiovascular disease

Cholesterol has many functions in the human body. It can synthesize cell membrane and protect blood vessels. However, long-term vegetarianism will reduce the cholesterol content in the human body, lead to hypocholesterolemia, and lead to thinning, brittleness and loss of elasticity of blood vessels. The easy rupture of blood vessels increases the possibility of stroke and cerebral hemorrhage. Cholesterol deficiency in elderly women increases the burden of blood vessels, increases the probability of coronary heart disease and increases the mortality rate. Eating animal offal and beans will increase cholesterol, and the elderly can take it appropriately.

An unbalanced diet will increase the risk of depression.

Because of long-term vegetarianism, the diet is unbalanced, and the human body will be short of vitamins and trace elements, as well as a variety of protein. Long-term lack of vitamin B 12 will affect the brain and eventually lead to depression. Vitamin B 12 exists in meat, seafood and dairy products.

Long-term vegetarianism will lead to vitamin B 12 deficiency. Studies have shown that people who are vegetarian for a long time are more likely to get depression than those who eat a normal diet. Therefore, the elderly should adhere to a balanced diet and eat a certain amount of meat products, which will not have adverse effects on the body, but will make the body healthier.

Increase the incidence of tumors

People who are vegetarian for a long time are more prone to genetic mutations than the average person. This will also lead to a series of chain reactions in the body. This gene mutation will promote the absorption of fatty acids in vegetarian food. Saturated fatty acids are converted into unsaturated fatty acids, which makes it easier for garbage toxins to attach to blood vessel walls. This carcinogenic hazard is four times that of ordinary people.

There is another case in China, which proves that on September 29th, 2006, 2065438, an article "Why an old couple who have been vegetarian for a long time suffered from stomach tumor" was published in qianjiang evening news. It is mentioned that the two couples are extremely vegetarian after retirement in order to preserve their health. It is this lifestyle that caused the couple to suffer from stomach tumors, especially the cancer patients who need to supplement a large number of protein.

Osteoporosis

Cholesterol has the function of synthesizing hormones. Long-term vegetarianism leads to lower cholesterol and less hormones used to synthesize the human body. In particular, male androgens are reduced due to lower cholesterol, and so are women. Cholesterol decreases, and synthetic estrogen decreases.

Similarly, the absorption of calcium is correspondingly reduced, which leads to the decrease of bone mineral density and finally to osteoporosis. Because of long-term vegetarianism, the body's intake of protein is reduced, the body's muscle content is reduced, the body's qi and blood are reduced, and the viscera function is also weakened.

Many elderly people worry that they have three highs, coronary heart disease, fatty liver and so on. Or people who already have these diseases, when they go to see a doctor, the doctor will tell them to pay attention to a light diet, eat less meat and eat more fruits and vegetables.

So many elderly people only eat vegetarian food for health. But doctors say it's not just for people to eat vegetarian food, but not meat. In order to maintain normal life activities, the elderly need to supplement protein.

How should the elderly eat to keep healthy? In diet, different vitamins and protein should be supplemented according to different physical conditions, but the nutrition must be balanced. Vegetables, fruits, milk, beans, all kinds of meat and seafood can be arranged reasonably according to their physical condition.
