In the past, money was printed with spells, and scriptures were burned. Burning the past to make money is an example of Mahayana convenience and abuse of karma. In fact, when the Buddha was alive, there was no money left. There is no record in the Tripitaka, which was created by China people.
In fact, chanting and burning paper are two different things. Buddhist scriptures say that printed scriptures cannot be burned, and burning them is a crime.
