Sit still, be healthy and enjoy life.

Written by: Shen (former general manager of Sanlian Bookstore and former editor-in-chief of Reader magazine)

During the whole "Cultural Revolution", I was a bard on the whole, and I had the conditions of being at ease. Speaking of carefree, I have a story that I want to go back to the last one.

1953, or 1954, that is, before I became a secretary in the editorial department, I was in poor health because I worked too hard. It was a critical moment. Don't you want me to go back? I must make achievements and create conditions for staying and working in Beijing. Where did my grades come from? I have a good taste in Russian. It is better for me to learn Russian earlier. I worked hard to make achievements, so I soon got sick. Three problems: first, neurasthenia, only sleeping for a few hours a night; Second, tuberculosis, playing pneumothorax in the hospital, the right lung has a shadow. Third, arthritis. Southerners can't adapt to the climate in the north. I was preparing to ask for leave to go to Shanghai to see a doctor. There happened to be one thing in the club, that is, Zheng Yili's Hua Ying Dictionary needed to go to Shanghai to make up the layout. Proofreading Yan Jun is very kind to me. Knowing that I was ill, he arranged for me to work in Shanghai to recuperate.

One thing I am proud of this time in Shanghai is also a lifelong benefit. Now you can say it directly, that is, you learned Qigong. I was introduced to an old gentleman named Jiang Weiqiao. His name is Zhu Zhuang, and his name is "Because it is a child". He is the director of the Education Department of Jiangsu Province. I learned qigong from him. He was 80 years old then. His achievement method is very simple, regardless of external work and internal work. What's more, there is no mess. There is only one beginning, that is, "guarding the abdomen." How can you "stay in your stomach"? I am very proud of this. I can carry out what he said, that is, "get rid of my insistence." He believes that the more you stick to a point, the less you can succeed, so you should relax. After relaxing, focus on one inch and three points below the navel and keep thinking about it, and it will get hot there. Once it gets hot, it is called "getting angry". Then, you follow the meridian route mentioned in the book and guide Qi to some acupoints. Where treatment is needed, let qi go. Slowly, your illness will get better.

The most important lesson I learned from him is not to cure physical illness, but to cure mental illness, that is, "get rid of my obsession." Teacher Jiang is good at saying "stop watching" and then introducing "I hold". As a young man in his twenties, I have never heard of this. After I came back from Shanghai, I was relieved. Everyone has a world, and I just try my best. As for how much I can do, it's none of my business, it's God's business or someone's business. Let me get rid of my self-pity mentality, which is the worst mentality. Self-pity is the biggest loss, and what I lose is myself, which makes me realize. I used to be so enterprising, but I don't know how to quit. He told me that only by advancing and retreating can we make real progress.

Oh, really, if he hadn't told me this, I might have been ruined in the future. Of course, I still want to enter, but I no longer deliberately pursue the effect. Whether it is effective or not, besides your own efforts, there is also a question of fate. You should be prepared, work hard and wait for your destiny. Otherwise, fate came and you missed it without preparation. A person will always meet some fate. You may not meet this fate, but it will come to you. One should never complain, why can't fate always find me?

It's a great benefit to think about it! Although he talked to me for a while, I listened. Later, when he told others, I was also concerned. I am very grateful to him. Last year, when I went to Taiwan Province Province, I collected his works in various versions, mainly the Method of Sit-in. He is a great master of Qigong, and I am deeply influenced by him. Interestingly, several old gentlemen who have had a deep influence on me are all from China Vocational Education Institute, and they are all with Huang Yanpei and others. Mr. Jiang Weiqiao, Mr. Shen Enfu, gave me a scholarship for the first year of middle school, and so did he; Even Mr. Zou Taofen, whom I have never met in my life, often pretends to be the heir to his career and belongs to the vocational education society.

In a word, because I learned Qigong from this teacher Jiang, I got physical and psychological exercise, which really benefited me a lot.
