With the improvement of people's health awareness, people are increasingly aware of the importance of physical examination. During the examination, many people will encounter a common clinical problem: cyst!

This condition includes hepatic cyst, pulmonary cyst, gallbladder cyst, etc. Patients will also become very anxious because of cysts in their bodies.

So, what is a cyst? Do you need to remove it? If not treated in time, will it affect life safety?

What is a "cyst"?

Cyst is a benign disease, which has a cyst cavity structure, a cyst wall outside and liquid or other components inside. Common cysts are hepatic cyst, renal cyst, ovarian cyst and chocolate cyst.

Its main manifestations are related to the location, size, number of cysts and whether there is compression or complications around them. Simple hepatic cysts are rare. If the cyst is large, it can oppress other organs, such as stomach, duodenum, colon, etc., and gastrointestinal symptoms may occur, such as fullness after meals, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting. If they are large, they can also cause abdominal pain, abdominal mass and compression of surrounding bile ducts, thus causing jaundice and other symptoms.

At present, there are three treatments for cysts:

First, the traditional method of surgical removal of cysts is to open a window to drain or peel off cysts;

Secondly, laparoscopic cyst resection is less traumatic, but the cost is higher;

Thirdly, the emerging ultrasound interventional drainage technology in recent years.

Under normal circumstances, if the cyst has no symptoms, it can be observed temporarily. If the cyst 10cm is accompanied by compression symptoms, it can be treated surgically. Simple renal cysts are generally asymptomatic, and symptoms will appear when renal cysts cause peripheral vascular compression and urinary tract obstruction.

Generally speaking, simple cysts will not affect renal function. If the cyst is not big, no special treatment is needed, and only 6- 1 year follow-up is needed. If the renal cyst is 5cm in diameter, it will cause severe compression symptoms and may cause urinary tract obstruction, so surgery is needed.

ovarian cyst

Ovarian cyst is common in gynecological diseases, mainly refers to the cystic structure inside or on the surface of female ovary, and this situation can be generally divided into two types regardless of age: physiological cyst and non-physiological cyst.

If it is a single cystic mass with normal tumor markers, it is benign. Most tumors are less than 5 cm in diameter and have no special symptoms. Cancer does not usually occur. As long as you check regularly, the time may gradually decrease, even for a few hours. This is the best.

If this ovarian cyst exists for a long time, even more than three months, and it is still changing, such as enlargement, distortion, rupture and so on. This situation can easily lead to some bad symptoms of patients, such as abdominal pain and bloating. And seek medical attention in time.

Hepatic cyst

Hepatic cyst is one of the most common benign liver diseases in clinic. For most patients, liver cysts do not need additional treatment, except parasitic liver cysts.

Parasitic hepatic cyst refers to the existence of blood vessels in the liver after parasites invade the intestine. When the parasite reaches the liver, it develops into an adult and forms a hepatic hydatid cyst, which requires surgical treatment, otherwise it will cause great damage to the liver and may become malignant.

However, instead of thinking about how to treat it, it is better to think about how to prevent it. After all, prevention is the key.

pancreatic cyst

There are two kinds of pancreatic cysts: true cysts and pseudocysts, of which pseudocysts are the most common and true cysts are rare. If the pancreatic cyst is a true cyst, the pancreatic cyst is relatively small and does not need treatment. Regular observation is enough, and B-ultrasound should be checked at least once a year, but pancreatic pseudocysts must be treated, especially large cysts.

The infection occurred inside the cyst. If the infection is serious, it will develop into abscess, and the patient will have severe abdominal pain symptoms and even lead to sepsis. Due to the sharp increase of pancreatic cyst, the cyst will puncture the gastrointestinal tract, and a few patients will have massive bleeding, which can lead to death in severe cases.

Pancreatic cyst is very easy to oppress the adjacent organs of patients, thus causing jaundice and other symptoms. If the cyst presses the pancreatic duct, the discharge of pancreatic juice will be hindered, and a large cyst will press the gastrointestinal tract, causing obstacles when food passes through.

When the cyst forms a fistula with the thorax and abdomen, the patient will have symptoms of pancreatic ascites and pleural effusion. The infected cyst is easy to rupture and enter the abdominal cavity, forming diffuse peritonitis, which can endanger the patient's life in severe cases.

Conclusion:

For congenital cysts, prevention during pregnancy is necessary. Pregnant women should eat a reasonable diet, ensure a balanced nutrition, and do not eat drugs that have an impact on fetal development to prevent radiation exposure.

Some cysts formed after birth can be prevented. We should ensure the regular life, avoid smoking and drinking, eat less spicy food, do personal protection during work and play, avoid injury, prevent parasite and bacterial infection, and go to regular public hospitals for examination and treatment in time after illness, all of which can prevent cyst formation.

If there are cysts, those with mild symptoms can be observed and treated, and those with large cysts can be surgically removed.
