The first stage: menstrual period
Ye Dunmin, chief physician of gynecology department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, said that each woman's menstrual period varies in length, which is normal within 3-7 days. From the point of view of traditional Chinese medicine, menstrual period belongs to the downward trend of yin blood, so it can't be overcompensated, otherwise it will cause congestion and irregular menstruation.
Menstrual conditioning should be based on "communication". Some women who have a certain understanding of Chinese medicine think of safflower when they talk about it. Ye Dunmin introduced that safflower is so powerful that it will be used to treat some diseases of women in clinic, but it is not necessary for healthy women. For women who don't have fever, that is, women with qi deficiency or yang deficiency (usually tired, pale and afraid of cold), you can use angelica, notoginseng and motherwort to make soup. Not too often, just two or three times a week.
The second stage: follicular phase
The follicular phase is just after menstruation. During this period, some primordial follicles began to grow and develop in the ovary. The estrogen secreted by follicles increased significantly, and the concentration in blood increased rapidly, and the endometrium also changed, mainly manifested as endometrial thickening, silently preparing for implantation after successful combination of eggs and sperm.
In the view of Chinese medicine, women's yin and blood are relatively insufficient in this period, and nourishing yin and enriching blood should be the main way of conditioning. You can use nourishing herbs such as Angelica sinensis, Radix Rehmanniae Preparata, Polygoni Multiflori Radix, Eucommiae Cortex, Fructus Lycii, Cordyceps, Colla Sus Domestica, and Bird's Nest to make soup or stew. Just two or three times a week.
Stage 3: Ovulation period
Ovulation period is the stage when eggs are discharged together with the surrounding cumulus granulosa cells. Taking the menstrual cycle as an example, the follicular phase is from 12 to 14 days before menstruation. After the ovum is discharged from the ovary, it can live in the fallopian tube for 1-2 days, waiting for fertilization. Ovulation period is short. If you pay close attention, many women can know that they are ovulating. For example, there will be symptoms such as increased secretion of female private parts, increased body temperature, anal dilatation or abdominal pain on one side.
In the view of Chinese medicine, this stage belongs to the staggered stage of yin and yang. The principle of conditioning should be based on warming meridians and dredging collaterals, warming yang and regulating qi. You can choose angelica, cassia twig, Amomum villosum, bergamot and other medicinal materials to make soup or stew. Because the ovulation period lasts for a short time, the soup can be cooked once at this stage.
The fourth stage: luteal phase
This period refers to the period from ovulation to the day before menstruation, when the ovary is affected by luteinizing hormone, it secretes lutein and maintains the thickened endometrium to facilitate the implantation of fertilized eggs. If there is no fertilized egg, the endometrium will disintegrate and the menstrual cycle will end with dysmenorrhea.
This stage belongs to Chinese medicine, where the yang is getting longer and longer, and menstruation is the most vigorous. The principle of conditioning is to warm yang. When it is cold, you can use velvet antler, Korean ginseng, Eucommia ulmoides, Morinda officinalis and so on. Make soup. If it is hot, add some astragalus.
