The king's first sentence said
Do not regret keeping in good health, and do not regret dying. Keep in good health and have no regrets when you die. The beginning of kingly way, that is, making people support the living and bury the dead without regret, is the beginning of kingly way. This sentence comes from Mencius' On My Country during the Warring States Period, and expounds Mencius' benevolent government thought. Mencius believed that in order to practice kingly way, we must first solve the problem of food and clothing for the people, so that the people can stay healthy and die without regret. Only in this way can we win the support of the people and realize the prosperity of the country.
