Hunan Taohuayuan has been declared as a national key scenic spot, an AAAA-level tourist area in China, a national forest park and a key cultural relic protection unit in Hunan Province.

According to legend, in the ancient Tang and Yao dynasties, Mr. Shanjuan went south from the Central Plains and lived in seclusion in Changde Deshan, which is less than a hundred miles away from Taohuayuan and a river (Yuanjiang). Yu Shun, who was highly respected and lived in seclusion because he gave way to the world, brought the Central Plains culture to xiang yuan. People call his secluded mountain "Deshan", so there is a folk saying that Changde Deshan has virtue. In his later years, Mr. Shanjuan went to Xupu via Taohuayuan, lived in Lufeng Mountain, and then moved to Judas, frequently traveling back and forth between the two places, which influenced and educated the people of the two places.
