The Historical Origin of Tong Ren Tang
According to the book "Tongrentang, a National Treasure" published by China Commercial Publishing House last year, the predecessor of Beijing Tongrentang was Laopu, which used to be a pharmacy run by the Le family for generations. Hundreds of years ago, in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, local people often saw an old doctor, wearing cloth shoes and clothes, going door to door for medical advice and selling medicine. The old doctor gets along well with the villagers, not only treating diseases and saving lives, but also chatting and gossiping. This old doctor, known locally as "Happy Family Old Doctor", is the ancestor of Happy Family. Le has a strong sense of clan. In order to prevent the Xerox family from being out of order, the founder of Ningbo Xerox compiled the Xerox Genealogy, with Le Ruzhen as the ancestor. After living in Ningbo for 3 1 generation, musicians moved to Beijing, which is the birthplace of Beijing Xerox family.

After the family moved to Beijing, they started as Dr. Bell and made a living by practicing medicine and selling medicines along the street. Compared with the orthodox Chinese medicine valued by the powerful people at that time, Dr. Bell was a folk doctor in the old society, with its own system. Folk appellations include Dr. Zhong Chuan, Dr. Zou Ma and Dr. Cao. Some of them have the characteristics of unique combination of acupuncture and medicine, rapid treatment, examination, convenience and cheapness, and their effects can often be seen in medical treatment. At that time, Le Cai Liang, the descendant of musicians, inherited the ancestral experience and often appeared in the streets of Beijing, making bells by hand, traveling around the world, treating diseases and selling medicines, which was deeply loved by the people.

Musicians changed from folk Dr. Bell to orthodox Chinese medicine, beginning with Le Song Ting, the son of Le Cailiang. Besides walking around the street like his father, Le Song Ting began to learn the classic theory of Chinese medicine and devoted himself to prescriptions and drugs to meet the needs of medical practice in big cities. After two generations of Xerox's efforts, when Xerox became famous in the fourth world, he studied medicine, and later became an official in the Imperial Hospital of the Qing Dynasty, that is, a senior medical officer in charge of imperial doctors, completing the mission of transforming into orthodox Chinese medicine and ending his ancestral career as a clock doctor.

Le Xianyang founded Tong Ren Tang Pharmacy in the eighth year of Kangxi (1669), which was a historical starting point and laid the foundation for later development. Therefore, the Leshi family designated that year as the birth date of Beijing Tongrentang, and Le Xianyang became the originator of Beijing Tongrentang. Le Xianyang believes that "the doctor, who can preserve health and help the world, is the most important." He personally drafted the name of the hall, "Colleague, why do you use these two words?" He said: "The word' colleague' can be named Tang. I like it fair and elegant, and I need to be ambitious. "

The word "colleague" comes from the Book of Changes, which means to live in harmony with others, be broad and selfless, and treat others equally regardless of their relatives and friends.

Tong Ren Tang has another story about the origin of this name. The word "bronze man" was first taken from a bronze man with acupuncture points left by a doctor of Zhong in the family of Le's. The bronze model is designed according to the "Illustration of Acupuncture and Moxibustion at Tongren Acupoints" written by the famous doctor Wang in the Northern Song Dynasty. Musicians originally wanted to use the bronze man as a strange symbol for the manufacture and sale of drugs, but later, considering that the bronze man was naked and unsightly, they turned to associate the homophonic word "colleague" of the bronze man.
