How was Taoism founded?
Taoism is a native religion in China, with "Tao" as its highest belief, and it is one of the five major religions in the world. Taoism is based on China's ancient Taoist thoughts such as Huang and Lao, and has inherited the immortal magic since the Warring States Period. At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, a large number of Taoist organizations appeared, including Taiping Dao and Wudoumi Dao.

Taoism is a polytheistic worship, and worshipping immortals personifies Taoism's belief in "Tao".

The founder of Taoism is Zhang Daoling in Han Dynasty, so Zhang Daoling is also called "the ancestor of heaven". It is worth mentioning that although Taoism is based on Laozi's Taoist theory, Laozi is not the founder of Taoism.

Later, in order to compete with the Quanzhen religion that rose later, many schools of Taoism in the north and south formed the orthodox alliance Wei Dao, also known as the orthodox school. Since then, Zhengyi and Quanzhen have been competing with each other.

Confucianism originated in Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties. At that time, the feudal rulers used Confucianism to transform primitive Taoism, making it as important as Confucianism as a powerful tool to maintain feudal rule. So there was no clear founder of Confucianism at that time. The founder of Confucianism was Confucius, who was called the "most holy teacher".
