Who's Grandpa Chef?
Grandpa Chef is Yi Yin. Yi Yin (BC 1649- BC 1549), surnamed Yi, was a wise man. Born in Yishui in the late summer (1653 now Yichuan, Henan Province), he should be from Kongsang Village, Qixian County, Kaifeng, Henan Province. Because his mother lives in the wild, she takes Yi as her surname. A famous politician and thinker in the early Shang Dynasty, he was one of the earliest known Taoist figures and the ancestor of chef China.

Yi Yin was a slave at first. When he was a child, he was fostered in other people's homes, so that he learned the art of cooking and became a master cook when he grew up. He became a wise man in Shang Tang's mind and was appointed Prime Minister, which had a great influence. There are also many words that compare Yi Yin to a skilled chef.

Yi Yin was the first outstanding figure in history who helped the emperor to govern the country with a negative attitude. The "Five Flavors Harmony Theory" and "Heat Theory" he founded are still the unchangeable principles of China's cooking.
