Lower blood pressure. Pu Tao has antihypertensive effect on anesthetized rats, rabbits, cats and dogs, as well as rats and dogs with renal hypertension. Water immersion and decoction are the strongest, followed by fluid extract, and ethanol, ether and chloroform extracts are ineffective. Muscle, vein and oral administration can lower blood pressure. Hot dip and its extract (precipitate obtained by adding calcium chloride after alkalization of hot dip) showed twice antihypertensive effect after intravenous injection in dogs. The first action is strong and short-lived, which appears immediately after injection and recovers in 30-60 minutes. The second effect is mild and lasting. Intramuscular injection and oral administration can only cause a second antihypertensive effect, which can last for 2-3 hours. Intravenous injection of decoction only has the first-order antihypertensive effect, but oral administration is ineffective. The first antihypertensive effect is probably not unique to Haizhou Changshan, and it seems to have no practical significance in treatment. The antihypertensive effect of leaves collected before flowering in Changshan, Haizhou is better than that collected after flowering. When fruit sets, the old leaves harvested every other year have little effect on lowering blood pressure. Heating for too long will also reduce the effect. If it is compatible with earthworm, it has synergistic effect on lowering blood pressure.
As for the hypotensive principle of this product, it is preliminarily considered that it is mainly caused by directly dilating blood vessels, and the blockade of ganglion also has some influence. Some people think that it is mainly through the central (cross circulation and Plutarch block test) to stimulate intravascular receptors to lower blood pressure and reduce the excitability of vascular motor centers. Others believe that all the above factors are at work. A more comprehensive point of view is that the primary hypotensive effect is closely related to direct vasodilation and blocking autonomic ganglia, and may be involved in reflex. The second hypotensive effect is probably caused by the central nervous system above the spinal cord dilating some visceral vessels, which is related to some internal receptors.
The experiment shows that indus sinensis has obvious sedative effect, mild sedative effect, no sleep caused by the increase of dose, and can prolong the anesthesia time of pentobarbital sodium.
Animal experiments have proved that the decoction of this product has obvious analgesic effect, and the effective component is Platanus acerifolia B.
This product, combined with Bidens bipinnata and Xitong Pill, has obvious inhibitory effect on formaldehyde-induced arthritis or egg white arthritis in rats.

When used with Radix Clematidis, it can disperse rheumatism, relax joints and relieve joint pain. This syndrome is mostly caused by sweating when the wind blows, or staying in a low-lying and humid place for a long time, cold and wet, and sticking to the muscle surface. The symptoms are irreversible shoulder and back pain, severe headache, or low back pain, difficulty in rolling over, white fur and floating pulse. Both Peach Blossom and Clematis chinensis have the effects of dispelling wind and overcoming dampness. After taking it, you will sweat slightly, so that the rheumatism will be fine and the pain will stop.
Combined with Uncaria rhynchophylla, it can cool the liver and calm the wind, relax tendons and activate collaterals. It is suitable for headache, dizziness and tremor caused by hyperactivity of liver yang. Uncaria rhynchophylla can cool liver, calm wind, clear heat and relieve spasm. The two drugs must be used together, and wind can also cure blood. There is no blood circulation.
It can be used together with chrysanthemum to treat headache, dizziness and insomnia caused by hyperactivity of liver yang and disorder of liver wind. Chrysanthemum calms the liver and calms the wind, and Pu Tao clears away heat and cools the blood. One cures the wind, the other cures the blood, and the blood cools the wind, which is a good pair of calming the liver and calming the wind.
Combined with Houttuynia cordata Thunb, the two drugs are used together to stop malaria. Pu Tao, the title of Illustrated Materia Medica, and Houttuynia cordata, the title of Compendium of Materia Medica, said: "Stop malaria". The former is named for its fishy smell, while the latter is extremely unpleasant. The combination of two drugs is the most effective method to treat "warm malaria".
Honeysuckle can clear away heat and toxic materials, eliminate carbuncle and produce sores. The carbuncle, sore and furuncle used for the accumulation of fire poison are local redness, swelling, heat and pain at first, or fever and aversion to cold. After a long time, the blood stasis turns into heat, and the meat rots into pus. The combination of the two drugs can clear away heat and toxic materials, cool blood and dissipate stagnation, and carbuncle can be cured.
Coptis chinensis is used to treat heat dysentery, which has the functions of clearing away heat and toxic materials, cooling blood and stopping dysentery. Heat dysentery is abdominal pain caused by diarrhea, and abdominal fever after acute diarrhea. This product can clear away damp-heat, thicken the stomach and intestines, and make heat energy clear away toxin, and dysentery can be stopped and then eliminated by itself.
Prescription preparation
Xitong Pill (Highlights of Health Care Experience): 500g of Alternanthera philoxeroides (flowers, leaves, stems and seeds can be chopped, dried and ground into powder) and 240g of sparse grass (fried and ground into powder). Treatment of hypertension (National Collection of Chinese Herbal Medicine): 6 grams of stinking plane leaves, 30 grams of Fagopyrum cymosum roots, 30 grams of Spica Prunellae (spike), 30 grams of shepherd's purse, 0/5 gram of Scrophularia/kloc, 65,438 grams of Rehmannia glutinosa and 65,438 grams of Polygonum Multiflori Radix. toxicity
This product is nontoxic. Dogs vomit after taking more than 20g/kg of decoction, but do not vomit when it is lower than 10g/kg. After taking it for 3 weeks, there were no obvious changes in liver function (clearance test of B.S.P), hemogram, electrocardiogram and pathological examination of heart, liver and kidney. Rats were given 0.25-2.5g/kg hot soaking solution every day for 60 days, which made some rats drink more water, reduce their activities, dilute their stools and have no other serious toxicity. The lethal dose of hot soaking was l9.4 g/kg and the extract was 0.98 g/kg. Gastric lavage was given to rats, and the hot soaking solution was one hundred and fifty g/kg, and the extract was 17 g/kg (equivalent to 300 g/kg crude drug). /kloc-No death was found within 0/2 hours. A few cats found hematuria and proteinuria in the experiment, which may have some influence on the kidney.
