Ding Feng, Tiantai Mountain, Zhejiang Province. Most tea trees are planted in Mishan Mountain at an altitude of 800-900 meters.
Tiantai Yunwu Tea is produced among the peaks in Tiantai Mountain, Zhejiang Province, and Huading, the highest peak, is the best, so it is also called Huading Wu Yun and Huading Tea. Most of the tea trees on the rooftop are planted in Mi Shan at an altitude of 800 ~ 900. The climate in the tea-growing area is cool in summer and cold in winter, with an annual average temperature of 12.2℃, dense fog all the year round, frequent snowfall in winter, and annual precipitation of 1900mm, which keeps the tea-growing area moist all the year round. The mountainous area is sandy loam with deep and fertile soil layer. Tea farmers choose favorable terrain, plant sporadically, and plant other trees around them to form a natural barrier against wind and cold to prevent the threat of alpine cold. Due to the low temperature and slow germination in mountainous areas, one bud and two leaves were picked after the small harvest. In order to ensure the characteristics of this kind of tea, only spring tea is used. Originally, frying green tea was a manual operation, but now it is changed to half-frying and half-baking, mainly frying, or making it by hand. It is prepared by spreading fresh leaves, deactivating enzymes at high temperature, spreading and cooling, gently kneading, primary drying and dehydration, spreading and cooling, frying in pan, baking at low temperature and slightly cooling. Three times of brewing is particularly fragrant, which fully shows the natural characteristics of Alpine Cloud Tea and is listed as a treasure in green tea.
Tiantai Mountain has a long history of growing tea because of its foggy mountains. According to Quan Zhi in Tiantai Mountain, as early as the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, there was a saying that "Ge Xuan Tea Garden has reached Huading Mountain". Master Chen, a monk and wise man in the Southern Dynasties, lived in Huading and Tianfeng, giving up drinking and meditating, enjoying tea and sleeping peacefully. His disciples hid their wisdom and treated the emperor Yang Di with tea. Lu Yu, a "Cha Sheng" in the Tang Dynasty, recorded in the Book of Tea: "Those born in Chicheng were born in Quidditch", and "Shiqiao Mountain also produces tea, which is sweet and delicious, and it is forbidden to go to other counties". Cloudy tea in Tiantai Mountain spread eastward with Buddhism. In 804 AD, Japanese monks first came to Tiantai Mountain to learn from their teachers. After returning home, they brought tea seeds and planted them on Hiei Mountain, which is called "Riji Tea Garden". In the Southern Song Dynasty, Rongxi came to the mountain for the second time, and the variety and preparation method of Wuyun tea, which is known as "Buddha's heaven and rain dew" and "Yuan Di's fairy pulp", were spread to the east again. Rong wrote in "Drinking Tea for Health": "Climb Mount Tiantai, see the stone bridge Qinglong, worship the arahant to talk about the peak, and provide a cup of tea soup with wonderful flowers." "Tea is an elixir for health preservation and a wonderful technique for prolonging life". He actively promoted the cultivation and consumption of tea and was known as Lu Yu of Japan.
Tiantai Wuyun tea is thin, tight, round and straight, with exposed white hair, green color, high and lasting aroma and excellent quality. It has the natural characteristics of alpine wuyun tea, and a cup of tea in your hand is refreshing. "Cangshan Yunfeng Tea", with heavy quality and rich flavor, is a treasure in tea. "Dan Qiu is boundless" won the first prize of 199 1 China Hangzhou International Tea Culture Festival and the third Zhejiang Tea Fighting Famous Tea Rookie. As early as 1924, Yu, a tea scientist, wrote a poem praising Mount Tai's cloud tea: the glitz of misty clouds is the top of the rosy clouds, and it belongs to the cave of clouds. The reputation is widely spread, but the quantity is small, fragrant, cool and green. People who often introduce products become surprised and loved, and are praised by ancient and modern anthologies. I hope that the rooftops are all fine varieties, so that everyone can taste fragrant tea.
Featured Huading Yunwu Tea, with fine and tight appearance, vigorous buds, green color, high aroma and fresh taste, is produced in the peak of Tiantai Mountain, a Buddhist resort, especially Huading, the highest peak, which is most famous, and is known as "Fog flashes and rosy clouds return to Yunkou". It is 25 kilometers away from Tiantai County, with an altitude of l098 meters, and it is foggy all year round.
Planting According to records, tea was planted here in the Han Dynasty. At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the "planting tea garden" in Ge Xuan had reached Huading. According to legend, Emperor Yang Guang of Yang Di fell ill in Jiangdu, and Tiantai Mountain monks sent Tiantai Mountain tea to treat him. Since then, tea has spread to the north. In 804 AD, Japanese monks went to Tiantai Temple (now National Assembly Temple) to study Buddhism for the first time. When they returned home, they brought back some rapeseed and tried to plant it in the foothills of Fanmu Village in Gong Jin (Shiga County). Today, the vegetable garden by the pond is said to be the former site where the most Qing masters planted tea. Since then, China tea and its cultivation techniques have been introduced to Japan.
Tiantai Mountain is windy, cool in summer and cold in winter. The locals described it as "there is no June in Huading Mountain, and it snows when the wind comes in winter". The annual average temperature is about 12℃, the highest is about 34℃, and the lowest is about-12℃. The frost-free period of the whole year is only 180 days, with dense fog all the year round and continuous frost and snow in winter. Tea trees like humidity and are afraid of the wind. Why can they grow up in such an environment? According to an expert survey, tea farmers here have accumulated rich experience in cultivation and management of alpine tea gardens.
They chose favorable terrain and planted it sporadically. Huadingfeng Old Tea Garden 1.3 million square meters or more. Scattered in more than 2700 places, the largest is only 1500 square meters, and the smallest is only dozens of tea trees. In addition, tall and dense Cryptomeria fortunei, Pinus bungeana, Pinus brevifolia, Rhododendron Tianmu, roses, Fargesia and Indocalamus are planted around the vegetable garden, forming a barrier against wind and cold. Measures such as spreading bamboo leaves and tender grass in tea gardens in winter are also taken to keep the ground moist and increase fertility. It provides an example for growing tea in special environment. Now Huading Forest Farm has opened up a new Tikan tea garden in Guiyun Cave, a famous place of origin, on the basis of reclaiming the old tea garden. By drilling wells and planting closely, the tea garden has been built into a sponge field, which greatly reduces the freezing injury and makes the tea tree grow better than the old tea garden.
