Which Taoist priest was Quanzhen when he preached to Genghis Khan?
In The Legend of the Condor Heroes, Qiu Chuji, a Taoist priest of Quanzhen Sect, braved the cold to visit Genghis Khan in the western regions on the way to the Western Expedition, and successfully persuaded Hanwang to "use fewer soldiers and kill fewer people", which was called "a word to stop killing" by later generations.

In The Legend of the Condor Heroes, Quanzhen Taoist Qiu Chuji met Guo Xiaotian, the descendant of Liangshan hero, and Yang Tiexin, the descendant of Yang Jiajiang, when he assassinated traitor Wang Daoqian and passed through Niujia Village in Lin 'an. Looking at the pregnant Mrs. Guo and Mrs. Yang, Qiu Chuji named the next generation of Guo and Yang Guo Jing and Yang Kang respectively, which means "the shame of Jingkang".

Qiu Chuji is not a fictional character, he is real in history. But in The Legend of the Condor Heroes, Mr. Jin Yong gave Qiu Chuji superb martial arts because of his role needs. The real Qiu Chuji (1 148- 1227) was born in Qixia, Dengzhou (now Shandong Province), and was a Taoist in the early Jin Dynasty. He is a famous writer, thinker, physician and health care scientist.

Qiu Chuji/Kloc-became a monk at the age of 0/9 and studied under Wang Zhongyang. Together with Danyang Yu, Changzhenzi, Changshengzi, Changchun Chuji, Yuyang Chuji, Guangningzi and Qingjing, they are called "all true seven sons". After his debut, Wang Zhongyang lived in Panxi Cave, Shaanxi Province for six years and practiced Buddhism. He lived in seclusion in Longmen Mountain (now southeast of Baoji City) for 7 years.

Travel west to Wan Li to persuade Genghis Khan to "stop killing". Most emperors are keen on pursuing immortality. After Yuan Taizu Genghis Khan unified the whole country and laid an unprecedented land, his physical condition gradually declined. Nearly 60 years old, he also encountered the same problem as the first emperor Ying Zheng-how to live forever. One day, after Genghis Khan heard about Qiu Chuji's deeds from the medical officer Liu Zhonglu, he wrote a letter and sent an emissary to invite Qiu Chuji to come, hoping to ask face to face about the way to keep healthy and live longer.

At that time, Qiu Chuji had become a well-known Taoist figure and was sought after by many rulers. Jin Shizong and Song Ningzong in the Southern Song Dynasty invited him to preach in his own country. Although Qiu Chuji was a Song Dynasty man, he went to the State of Jin to preach. However, he thought that the Southern Song Dynasty was guilty of "losing government", so he refused to go.

In the face of Genghis Khan's invitation, Qiu Chuji refused at first. Later, he couldn't stand Genghis Khan's invitation to write again and finally agreed to preach to the West. So, in the twelfth month of 12 19, 73-year-old Qiu Chuji set out from Laizhou, Shandong Province, and trudged to Wan Li with Yin Zhiping, Li Zhichang and other 18 disciples. Two years later, he arrived at the Great Snow Mountain in the Western Regions and met Genghis Khan on the way to the Western Expedition.

In the face of Taizu's "real people come from afar, can they bring the medicine of immortality?" When asked about this matter, Qiu Chuji replied frankly: "There is no way to live forever, only the way to preserve health." And told Mao that health preservation should be based on abstinence.

Without the elixir, Mao was disappointed, but in the subsequent conversation, he was gradually impressed by the pious and knowledgeable Qiu Chuji. When it comes to governing the country, Qiu Chuji suggested that Mao should "respect heaven and love the people" and "if he is the master of the world, he must care about not killing people". According to the records in the History of Yuan Dynasty, "Taizu was right, saying,' God sent immortality to win my ambition'". Mao listened to Qiu Chuji's advice, and this is the origin of "stopping with a word". In 20 13, Universal Studios put this story on the screen and spent 80 million yuan to shoot the film Stop Killing.

Later, Li Zhichang, a disciple of Qiu Chuji, wrote A Journey to the West by Changchun Reality, describing the journey in detail.

Qiu Chuji has been engaged in religious activities for a long time and has a keen insight into social issues. He knew that the development of Taoism must be fully supported by the ruling class. When Jin Shizong invited him, he went to the State of Jin to preach and gained the trust of Jin Shizong. Jin Shizong not only praised Da Tao personally, asked him to host the Spring Festival, but also ordered someone to sculpt Wang Zhongyang, the founder of Quanzhen Taoism, which played an important role in expanding the influence of Quanzhen Taoism and improving his social status in Qiu Chuji.

After seeing Genghis Khan in the snow-capped mountains, Qiu Chuji returned to Yanjing (now Beijing). Later, Mao's tiger charms and imperial edicts also came to Yanjing. Mao ordered Qiu Chuji to be in charge of Taoism in the world, and issued letters to exempt Taoist schools and Taoist priests from all taxes. Therefore, Qiu Chuji has established eight churches, such as Equality, Changchun and Lingbao, and built a large number of temples and altars. At one time, the four major sects, Taoist couples gathered, and Quanzhen religion achieved unprecedented development.

In the 22nd year of Yuan Taizu (1227), Qiu Chuji went out of Baoxuan Hall and was buried in Shuntang (now Beijing Baiyunguan Qiuzu Hall). In the sixth year of Yuan Dynasty (1269), Yuan Shizu presented a letter to the Bishop of Changchun as a real person. From Yuan Wuzong to junior year (13 10), he was named as "the real person of Changchun".
