Can I put a high borosilicate glass pot on the base of the decocting pot?
No glass jars.

There are acidic substances in Chinese medicine, which can react with glass materials. It is better not to use metal containers, especially aluminum materials, to boil traditional Chinese medicine in special casserole crock, which is not easy to react with traditional Chinese medicine and is safe.

If you want to cook Chinese medicine, you must choose a good container, such as ceramic casserole, iron pot, aluminum pot and so on. Traditional Chinese medicine will react with many metals and affect its efficacy. Therefore, it is very important to choose the container, because it is best to soak the traditional Chinese medicine for half an hour before decocting.

Decocting method and steps

There are certain requirements for cooking utensils, water, temperature and cooking methods in the decoction of traditional Chinese medicine. Selection of frying utensils: casserole, crock and ceramic pot are better, and metal utensils are prohibited. Water for decocting medicine: generally, it is enough to decoct medicine with cold water, so as to ensure that the amount of water is enough without medicine. Decocting duration: the duration can be divided into mild fire and fierce fire.

Slow fire is to slowly heat water to boiling temperature; Fierce fire refers to the heat that quickly heats water to boiling. The temperature needs to be selected according to the function and performance of the prescription. Decocting method: soak the medicine for at least 30 minutes before decocting. Chinese medicine needs to be decocted twice. Decocting the medicine for the first time, adding enough water, which is 3-5cm higher than the medicine surface. After boiling, continue to fry for 20 ~ 30 minutes with low fire, and then pour out the liquid medicine.

When decocting the medicine for the second time, add water until it is about 3 cm higher than the medicine surface. After the water boils, decoct with slow fire for 20 minutes, and pour out the liquid medicine. Mix and filter the two liquid medicines, and take them twice.

The method of taking traditional Chinese medicine should be warm. One dose of medicine should be taken twice with an interval of 4-6 hours. The time of taking medicine should be determined according to the location, nature and drug performance of the disease. If the disease is above the chest diaphragm, it should be taken after meals; If the disease is below the chest and abdomen, it should be taken before meals; If the drug is irritating, it should be taken after meals; If the tonic is greasy, it should be taken on an empty stomach; Antipsychotics should be taken before going to bed.
