First, the national key protected terrestrial wild animals can be artificially propagated:
1, sika deer
2. Red deer
3. ostrich
4. Rhea
5. Oriental chinemys reevesii
6. Nile crocodile
7.crocodile
8. Siamese crocodile
9. Tiger frog
Second, the significance of artificial reproduction to wildlife protection
1. Under the conditions of ensuring genetic diversity, preventing inbreeding and cross-region/population distant hybridization, artificial breeding population can feed back wild population.
2. For the wild species that are extremely endangered, whose habitats have been seriously destroyed and will soon be extinct, artificial propagation can prevent the species from being completely extinct and provide conditions for the reintroduction of wild populations.
3. The artificial propagation population has stable characters, can cultivate various characters according to the purpose, is in a controllable artificial propagation environment, and has low risk of epidemic disease, so the mature artificial propagation population usually has more advantages than the wild population in commercial trade, which can reduce or even eliminate the demand for the wild population.
4. Artificial breeding can study the physiological characteristics of the species to be protected without destroying the wild population, which is conducive to formulating reasonable protection methods.
Legal basis: People's Republic of China (PRC) Wildlife Protection Law.
Article 25 The state supports relevant scientific research institutions to artificially breed wildlife under special state protection for the purpose of species protection. Artificial breeding of wildlife under special state protection other than those specified in the preceding paragraph shall be subject to a licensing system. Artificial breeding of wildlife under special state protection shall be approved by the wildlife protection departments of the people's governments of provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government, and a license for artificial breeding shall be obtained, except as otherwise provided by the State Council for the approval authorities. Artificial breeding of wild animals under special state protection should use artificial breeding offspring provenance, and establish species pedigree, breeding files and individual data. In order to protect species, if it is really necessary to adopt field provenance, the provisions of Articles 21 and 23 of this Law shall apply. The term "artificially propagated offspring" as mentioned in this Law refers to the offspring of individuals born under artificial control and their parents also born under artificial control.
Article 26 Artificial breeding of wild animals under special state protection shall be conducive to species protection and scientific research, and shall not destroy wild population resources, ensure necessary activity space, healthy conditions for survival and reproduction, have places, facilities and technologies suitable for their breeding purposes, species and development scale, meet relevant technical standards and epidemic prevention requirements, and shall not mistreat wild animals. The wildlife protection department of the people's government at or above the provincial level may, according to the needs of protecting the wildlife under special state protection, organize the release of the wildlife under special state protection into the wild environment.
Twenty-seventh prohibit the sale, purchase and utilization of wildlife under special state protection and their products. Where it is necessary to sell, purchase or use wildlife under special state protection and its products due to scientific research, artificial breeding, public exhibitions, cultural relics protection or other special circumstances, it shall be approved by the wildlife protection departments of the people's governments of provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government, and special signs shall be obtained and used in accordance with regulations to ensure traceability, except as otherwise provided by the State Council for the approval authorities. The scope and management measures for the implementation of special signs for national key protected wild animals and their products shall be formulated by the competent department of wildlife protection in the State Council. Anyone who sells or uses wildlife that is not under special state protection shall provide proof of legal sources such as hunting, import and export. The sale of wild animals specified in the second and fourth paragraphs of this article shall be accompanied by a quarantine certificate according to law.
