In history, some famous doctors studied Confucianism first, then transferred to Chinese medicine, such as Huangfu Mi and Zhu Danxi. Some people are both government officials and doctors, such as Bing Wang and Xu Dachun. Most of them are handed down from generation to generation. This phenomenon is related to the connection between China culture and China medicine in some ancient books, so that there was a saying among scholars at that time that "a child must know medicine". Perhaps influenced by this environment, some scholars used to study and ponder Chinese medicine as a hobby.
In fact, TCM not only explains human physiology, pathology and disease treatment, but also includes ancient astronomy, geography, philosophy, psychology, sociology and ancient China studies. We learn it, in addition to self-care, but also learned a lot of knowledge of Chinese studies. So if you are free, you might as well study it.

Perceptual understanding of traditional Chinese medicine
Chinese medicine can be divided into at least three categories:
One is westernized Chinese medicine, which sees a doctor according to the name and laboratory list of western medicine, and there is no soup for medicine. A mountain of Chinese medicine is not assisted by monarch and minister, which not only makes the treatment often ineffective, but also may aggravate the condition.
Second, Chinese medicine: These Chinese medicine practitioners are often apprentices or Chinese medicine practitioners, who prescribe medicine with soup, sometimes taking classics as the basic prescription. The treatment effect is not bad, and there are many old patients. But at that time, the problem of Chinese medicine was that chronic diseases could not be stopped, and they would recur after stopping taking drugs. Secondly, for serious diseases, especially tumors, the means are limited and it is very difficult to stabilize the disease. Therefore, at that time, the view of Chinese medicine was to let the tumor patients operate first and at the same time use Chinese medicine to recuperate. You can't solve the problem with one dose of medicine to treat a cold.
Third, classic Chinese medicine: this kind of Chinese medicine is a real Chinese medicine. They analyzed the patient's condition according to the dialectics of the Six Classics, and the dialectics was accurate. Often patients can feel the magical effect of traditional Chinese medicine after drinking the first bowl of medicine; Treatment of even a terrible tumor, if dialectical and accurate, the disease will be controlled at once. Generally, one or two doses of medicine are used to treat exogenous diseases such as colds. This kind of Chinese medicine is very scarce, such as Ni in the United States, Chen Ming in Beijing and Nanjing. However, I also saw that patients' illness often recurred when adding or subtracting prescriptions and changing prescriptions in classic Chinese medicine.
With the perceptual knowledge of Chinese medicine, we can establish the direction of learning Chinese medicine, learn the classic prescriptions of Chinese medicine and dialectically use the six meridians.
The first sip of milk to learn Chinese medicine
Motivation to learn is needed. If there is no strong desire as a support, you will rarely love and deepen a knowledge.
After two years in the Chinese medicine clinic, I began to teach myself Chinese medicine classics. The first thing I learned was Treatise on Febrile Diseases. The first book I learned was Fourteen Treatise on Febrile Diseases written by Mr. Liu Duzhou, and then I went to the University of Chinese Medicine to listen to the Treatise on Febrile Diseases written by Mr. Chen Ming.
I learned Treatise on Febrile Diseases in less than ten days, that is, I cured the sweaty young man next door with Guizhi Decoction. A week later, I cured my neighbor's gallstone patient who needed surgery with two doses of Chaihu Guizhi decoction, which really shocked me! Why is it important to learn the first bite of Chinese medicine? These two cases make me firmly believe that modern diseases can be cured without adding or subtracting the original prescription! This sip of milk is too important, because the current classical Chinese medicine is telling students to add and subtract when teaching students. With this sip of milk, I won't be misled. At present, Chinese medicine practitioners are practicing the combination of classical prescriptions, the combination of classical prescriptions and the addition and subtraction of classical prescriptions, but I respect the original prescription of classical prescriptions more and practice the curative effect of classical prescriptions among myself, my family and friends.
Although some classic prescriptions think that I am lucky to meet the cases in accordance with the original prescription, I firmly believe that the original prescription has a better curative effect, because I have practiced the treatment of more than 100 patients, and the effect is as good as God!
The first step in learning Chinese medicine
Learning Chinese medicine naturally depends on reading Chinese medicine books, which are vast. How to choose introductory books and read them orderly is undoubtedly related to time and effect.
1, basic theory of traditional Chinese medicine
This book is the general framework of TCM theory. Starting from this book, we first understand how Chinese medicine expounds the physiology of human body, the occurrence of diseases and the understanding of diseases. Chinese medicine terms and nouns mentioned in the book will be found in all Chinese medicine books, so read this book first, and then you will know what they mean. Because Chinese medicine is full of ancient philosophical thoughts, it is very abstract, holistic and logical, so it is not thorough for us to read it directly with words, but to think and interpret it in a three-dimensional way, not only to be comprehensive, but also to be able to use it freely.
2. Traditional Chinese medicine
Through the excavation and collation of traditional Chinese medicines in past dynasties, there are more than 6,543.8+0,000 kinds of traditional Chinese medicines at present, but some traditional Chinese medicine textbooks are basically slightly increased around Shennong Materia Medica Classic, with only about 400 kinds of medicines, the efficacy of which is followed by many departments, which is not enough for professional Chinese medicine practitioners engaged in multidisciplinary clinical diagnosis and treatment. In addition, due to the limitation of historical conditions, there are still some misunderstandings or exaggerations about the efficacy of drugs in the book, or other effects have not yet been discovered, so clinical application must also refer to some modern pharmaceutical monographs to enrich it. The taste, function, processing and dosage of drugs should be mastered, and their side effects should also be understood, especially toxic drugs.
3. prescription
Prescription science is a discipline that expounds and studies the compatibility law and clinical application of drug prescriptions, and it is one of the basic disciplines in clinical departments.
There are many prescriptions in Chinese medicine books, reaching more than 60 thousand before the Ming Dynasty, and there are many innovations later. At present, most prescription textbooks are based on the classification of treatment and curative effect, and only about 400 representative prescriptions are selected, some of which are rarely or completely used, while many prescriptions are not selected in clinical subjects. Therefore, beginners can ask clinical Chinese medicine for advice.
In addition to mastering the basic knowledge of prescriptions, we should also memorize the composition, efficacy and indications of commonly used clinical prescriptions and prescriptions not included in books. The prescriptions of the predecessors are the summary of their treatment experience, and some of them are still in use after more than 2,000 years, so it takes time to recite.
4. TCM diagnosis
The basic methods of TCM diagnosis are observation, hearing, questioning and pulse-taking, and the four diagnosis methods should not be neglected. Tongue diagnosis is particularly important in observation. There is a saying that "the syndrome does not distinguish between the pulses, and the pulses do not distinguish between the tongues", which shows that tongue diagnosis can make a correct judgment when in doubt. The feeling of pulse-taking is mysterious and complicated. In the past, some Chinese medicine practitioners often used it to show off their skills. When three fingers touched, the patient's symptoms poured out. In fact, this is not entirely because of pulse diagnosis, but because patients or their families complain first, plus silent observation, listening and participation while pulse diagnosis. Due to the limitation of historical conditions or the need of phonology, ancient monographs on pulse diagnosis often exaggerate their functions or are arbitrary. We should not blindly believe in pulse diagnosis at the expense of others, but should combine the four diagnosis methods.
The process of four diagnosis is the process of examination and the process of taking pathological evidence. Summarize the evidence from four clinics and make a comprehensive analysis by using the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, so as to infer the etiology, pathogenesis, location, nature and potential of patients, which is "syndrome differentiation". Traditional Chinese medicine treatment is "syndrome differentiation and treatment", so the accuracy of syndrome differentiation is directly related to the success or failure of treatment. This is also an important symbol to measure the level of medical skills. Proficiency depends on mastering the theory and clinical experience of traditional Chinese medicine.
In the long-term medical practice, predecessors summarized a set of systematic and effective methods of syndrome differentiation, such as etiology, eight classes, viscera and meridians, six meridians, defending qi and nourishing blood, triple energizer syndrome differentiation and so on. This is a dialectical method created by medical scientists in different periods according to their own experience for different diseases. They have their own characteristics and some internal relations, but now they are only complementary. In clinical diagnosis, it is not necessary to judge each disease by various methods, but to target the disease category.
The Second Step of Learning Chinese Medicine —— Studying the Four Books and Five Classics
I especially agree with Mr. Ni Xiahai. First, we should learn the original Chinese acupuncture, Huangdi Neijing, Shennong Herbal Classic, Treatise on Febrile Diseases and synopsis of the Golden Chamber. Have a solid knowledge of classics, and then learn the classics of Chinese medicine about febrile diseases and prescriptions, so as not to be confused.
In order to better treat myself and my family, I first learn Treatise on Febrile Diseases, and then practice the classic prescriptions on myself and my family. With practice, we will be more convinced that the provisions of Treatise on Febrile Diseases are true. The skill of learning is to read the textbook of Treatise on Febrile Diseases and the teaching CD of Treatise on Febrile Diseases. There is a courseware of teacher Hao Wanshan on the Internet. If you are well-off, you can invite foreign friends to buy five courseware of Treatise on Febrile Diseases, Synopsis of the Golden Chamber, Acupuncture, Huangdi Neijing and Shennong Materia Medica. Teacher Ni's courseware is very rich in clinical experience, and I think it is a very good courseware for learning Chinese medicine.
The third step of learning Chinese medicine-learn to use classical prescriptions.
Modern Chinese medicine is teaching people how to prescribe drugs. I think this method is not only difficult to learn Chinese medicine, but also ineffective. Because the ancient prescription principle has long been lost, we assume that the ancient prescription principle can make the prescription accurate.
The master told me that the former Confucian doctor, that is, a scholar above a scholar, did not study medicine, but his family or neighbors had diseases, so he chose prescriptions from medical books instead of prescribing them himself, and the treatment effect was also very good.
There are more than 200 classic prescriptions of Zhongjing's predecessors and more than 380 classic prescriptions of Guilin's ancient treatise on febrile diseases. Let's learn how to use these classic prescriptions first, and use them to treat diseases for ourselves and our families and accumulate experience. My experience is that classic prescriptions are like precision-guided missiles, and the curative effect is very stable wherever they are hit. When the patient's condition is complicated, 2-3 prescriptions can be used. In order to avoid drug interference, patients can take different prescriptions at different times.
I firmly believe that it is more efficient, effective and stable for beginners of Chinese medicine to learn how to use the original prescription than to learn how to make it by themselves or how to formulate it or how to formulate it.
The main direction of learning Chinese medicine-learning the treatment of special diseases
Laozi said: the wise have no knowledge, and those who have knowledge are not wise! The same is true of learning Chinese medicine. You should have basic skills, learn the four books and five classics well, and have expertise, with the focus on the clinical research of specific diseases.
After I studied Chinese medicine, I used classic prescriptions to treat various miscellaneous diseases at home, and I used classic prescriptions to treat hepatitis B and its complications with my teachers in the clinic. Overcoming specialized diseases is very valuable for improving clinical level. Although there are not many outpatients, we have accumulated 100 cases of hepatitis B, liver cirrhosis and liver cancer in the past six months, and we have a basic concept of the law of hepatitis B transmission, the difficulties in treatment, how to defend the prescription, how to change the prescription and the seasonal changes of the prescription. When the outpatient service can reverse the life-threatening patients with severe hepatic ascites, relieve the uncomfortable symptoms of liver cancer and stabilize the condition, I deeply know that the six meridians are right and how great the prescription is. At the same time, patients with hepatitis B have miscellaneous diseases, such as irregular menstruation, nosebleeds and oral ulcers. I can also learn the experience of treating miscellaneous diseases from the treatment of hepatitis B. The so-called one-stop communication is all in one. I think it will take several years to treat thousands of hepatitis B patients in outpatient department, which will definitely solve most of the problems of hepatitis B and its certification.
There are no good methods for many chronic diseases in western medicine, such as allergic rhinitis, arrhythmia, hypertension, diabetes, nephropathy, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, tumor and so on. These diseases all have corresponding experience in treating prescriptions and classics. Chinese medicine students specialize in one disease, and there are countless changes in one disease. The same patient has different changes in the course of treatment, which not only has boundless merits, but also has great influence. Why worry about Chinese medicine?
Learning Chinese medicine is inseparable from tutors and friends.
As the old saying goes, a well tastes sweet three times, so you can learn from three Wulin experts. Learning Chinese medicine, visiting famous teachers and making more friends with Chinese medicine scholars are of great help to improve their clinical level. I often send difficult outpatient cases to my English friends for discussion, and their analysis also broadens my horizons. An outpatient treatment of chronic liver disease can relieve shaoyang, and can quickly relieve discomfort symptoms such as bitter mouth, dry throat, dizziness, nausea, hypochondriac pain, fatigue and insomnia, but after a long time, the disease may recur or stagnate, which is very confusing. I asked the Taoist doctor, and the Taoist doctor brushed his teeth with a clean hand and said, "When the sun rises, there will be less yang. How can there be so much yang for you to rise? You have to go back to the acquired foundation and the innate foundation. " . It really hit the nail on the head and woke up the dreamer.
In addition, we should be careful not to be superstitious about authority, even our own teachers. Experience after clinical trials is the most reliable.
Self-taught Chinese medicine is actually similar to the study of many other knowledge. If you want to start without detours, you must start with famous teachers and classics. The height of people and knowledge you come into contact with largely determines your vision and the height you can reach in the early stage of learning, even in the whole learning process.
At the same time, it doesn't make much difference if a respected and knowledgeable teacher teaches you with clear ideas, simple and simple language and real and wonderful cases. Even if you are as diligent, there will be a world of difference over time.
