What is Ge Hong's life story? What books does he have?
Ge Hong (AD 283-342) was born in Jurong, Danyang, Eastern Jin Dynasty (now Jurong County, Jiangsu Province). At about the age of 14, he studied alchemy under the famous Jia (Zheng Siyuan). Regarding Ge Hong's monastic process and his teaching system of learning elixir, Ge Hong himself said: "In the past, Zuo Yuanfang (that is, Zuo Ci) meditated in Tianzhu Mountain, and the immortals taught him elixir and immortal classics. In the chaos at the end of the Han Dynasty, he didn't cooperate, but crossed the river to the east, hoping to build a famous mountain and take the road of theseus. I got it from my ancestors (the Gong Xian Ge Xuan) and Fiona Fang. He collected three volumes of Tai List Crystal, one volume of Jiuding Single Crystal and one volume of Jinye Single Crystal. I studied under Jun Zheng (his name is Philip Burkart), but I am also a disciple of Zu Gong Xian. I am influenced by his ancestors, but my family is poor and I can't afford medicine. My marriage has long been swept away, because it was accepted by the altar alliance in Ma Jishan, and all the formulas were not written. Jiangdong didn't have this book before. It was written by Zuo Yuan, given by his ancestors, given by his ancestors, and given by his ancestors, so he became an ignorant Taoist. " (Ge Hong in the Eastern Jin Dynasty: See Wang Ming's Textual Research on Bao Puzi, Zhonghua Book Company, 1980) Andrew has a rich collection of books, about 670 volumes, and Ge Hong has seen more than 200 volumes. Later, Ge Hongbai studied alchemy for Bao Liang, the magistrate of the South China Sea, was taught by san huang, a stone chamber, and he also fully developed his medical skills. In his later years, he went to Luofu Mountain to pray for longevity. Ge Hong once wrote "Bao Puzi's Inner Chapter", "It belongs to Taoism to talk about fairy prescriptions, become ghosts, preserve health and prolong life, and pray for evil but get into trouble." Among them, the content of elixir is mainly concentrated in three volumes: elixir, elixir and Huangbai. The volume "Then" introduces the method of refining and then taking it. The volume of "Fairy Medicine" is devoted to the medicine for prolonging life. The volume "Yellow and White" introduces the refining method of fake gold and silver. Ge Hong not only summarized the predecessors' achievements in elixir, but also creatively developed elixir. He was a master of elixir in the Han, Wei and Jin Dynasties both in theory and in practice.
