Basic theory of communication

Now let's talk about the second basic theory of communication. The first is the basic crux. We talked about eight questions and made a little analysis. You may remember something. What we are talking about now is a theoretical problem. Communication needs theoretical guidance. In this place, I want to introduce four theories to you. Let's share it.

The first theory is called funnel theory, the second theory is called TCM theory, the third theory is called folding theory, and the fourth theory is called four-micro theory. I want to briefly explain these four theories and share them with you.

First of all, the first theory is called funnel theory. What is the funnel theory? With the easing of communication or the change of procedures, this information keeps leaking down, just like a funnel. Usually, what is the leakage method? It's not good to miss about 20% in every link. If you don't pay attention to the information you want to convey, you will miss part of it. This theory tells us to be vigilant. As little as possible, try to make your message more complete. Only in this way can the final communication effect be guaranteed, otherwise the information will be missed and the other party will not receive it at all.

Let's do some analysis. The communication link is roughly five links, and the starting point is also called the first link. For example, I want to talk to someone today. Before I say anything, I want to get ready. What should I talk to him and say? This is the first link, also called the starting point. What's on your mind at this moment, we call it 100%. At this time, the amount of information is the most complete, all in your heart. You need to talk to someone about something, to what extent, and what you want to think. This is the first link. At the beginning of communication, as a communication party, the amount of information you have in mind should be 100%.

In the second link, you bring that person in and you start talking. You are the messenger. What you say can only account for about 80% of what you originally thought. What you thought was 100%. For some reasons in expression, you may not be fully expressed. When you say it through your mouth, only 80% of the information is conveyed, and 20% of this link is missed. What you say is not what you think.

The third link is 80% of the information, and the other party's ears may not be fully heard for some listening reasons. There may be a 20% gap between what you said and what he heard, and what he heard was 60%.

The fourth link, after hearing 60%, may not understand, hear clearly, understand, some may understand, some may not understand, and some may not fully understand. If you really know and understand, it may be reduced by 20%, leaving 40%.

The fifth link, the person who receives the information may not be able to turn the information into action, and may not be able to really implement it. At this time, there may still be a gap of 20%, leaving 20%. So from the beginning, the most complete information in your mind is 100%, until the last person who receives the information turns it into action and puts it into practice, there may be 20% left. In this process, the link will lose 80% information. This is a theory, which is called funnel theory.

This situation exists under any circumstances, and it is impossible not to leak. Leakage is absolute. After learning this theory, you should consciously control every link and try to keep your information as little as possible. More can be conveyed to each other, so as to ensure the effect of our communication. This is a theory, which is easy to understand.

The second theory is called TCM theory. I'm not a medical student, but I like Chinese medicine. I often watch the programs of Beijing Yangshengtang. As long as I have time, I will listen to those famous old Chinese medicine practitioners who talk about Chinese medicine, health care and health care. I don't listen, but I'm listening. I wonder, does this theory of Chinese medicine have anything to do with our management? I think this is relevant and valuable.

Traditional Chinese medicine theory and management communication are interlinked, so I got such inspiration. Chinese medicine believes that the general principle does not hurt, but the pain will not work. This is what Chinese medicine calls the human body and the human body. It hurts where it's blocked. What is angina pectoris? The place was blocked, the blood vessels were blocked, and he was in pain. What is joint pain? That place hurts when it is blocked. So Chinese medicine is painful, but useless. The general principle is painless. Do you want to extend it to the management department? Which part and which post are blocked, the work is not done well, it is stuck, something goes wrong, something goes wrong, which affects the operation of the whole unit. This is Chinese medicine.

What is the principle of Chinese medicine? Promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, dredging meridians, all traditional Chinese medicine is for this purpose, promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, dredging meridians, and making blood unimpeded. This is the principle of Chinese medicine. Our communication is to solve this problem, promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis, and make it clear where the blockage is. This is called communication.

TCM health preservation can be summarized in two words: balance. Traditional Chinese medicine health care focuses on these two words, balance. As long as you can achieve a balance in all aspects, you will be healthy and rich. Where there is a problem, where there is an imbalance, your health becomes a problem, so Chinese medicine, I have been listening to it repeatedly, and I have been thinking about it. I am afraid that summing up Chinese medicine in China for thousands of years is probably two words. I don't know if the old Chinese doctor agrees that it is balance, just to seek physical balance. I'm afraid the balance of TCM health preservation is embodied in six aspects, and we must seek the balance of six dimensions.

The first environmental balance. We talk about survival of the fittest, but you can't adapt to this place. Some people are in the south, and people in the south can't adapt to the soil and water in the north. After staying in the south for several years, everything went wrong, especially the joint pain. Northerners simply can't adapt to the climate in the south, especially in the rainy season. Some people in the south can't adapt to the climate in the north. They feel dry. They have been drinking water since they came, no matter what. They think the water in the north is hard and too alkaline. Environmental adaptation. Some people adapt to being civil servants in party and government organs, some people adapt to starting a business in the sea, and some people are suitable for scientific research. They are excellent scientific and technological talents. This is an environment, a career choice, and this is balance. You can grow well if you get used to it.

The second is called balanced nutrition, three meals a day, what to eat, what to drink, how much to eat, what to eat with, and what not to eat with. This is a mutual thing. This is called nutritional balance. You listened to Professor Yu Kang's lecture on nutrition, which was very clear.

The third balance: static and dynamic balance. Exercise can preserve health, and life lies in exercise. However, there is also a theory that quietness can preserve health and prolong life. Everyone has heard that a 1,000-year-old tortoise and a 10,000-year-old tortoise both live longer than turtles. Turtles like to be quiet. He is always motionless in that place, and many people keep turtles at home. If he doesn't move, he depends on silence. So is everyone suitable for moving or static? What is suitable is the best. It's not right to talk only about moving, and it's not right to talk only about being quiet. It is wrong to deny silence with movement, and it is also wrong to deny movement with silence. I'm afraid it's more reasonable to have movement. For example, we move during the day, sleep honestly at night and lie in this place to rest.

The fourth balance of entry and exit, including how much you eat and drink, needs to be discharged. Some people are constipated and don't defecate for two or three days. This is not good, it is unbalanced and will cause problems.

The fifth psychological balance is more important. Many things need to be calm, and many things need to be calm, calm, tolerant and tolerant. These three qualities are health and health index, leisurely, tolerant and intolerant, and psychological balance. Content is better than riches.

Sixth, the balance of yin and yang, yin flourishes and yang declines, yang flourishes and yin declines, and the balance of yin and yang declines, which is Chinese medicine. Let's go back to management. When I was talking about leadership, I kept talking about it. I face our leading cadres at all levels. what did i say? What do I mean by leadership? In the final analysis, the art of leadership is highly summarized, which is the word balance. Being a leader is actually a balance. We balance all aspects of society, we balance all regions, we balance all fields, we balance all ethnic groups, we balance all political parties, we balance all groups and we balance all classes. As long as it is balanced, as long as it is generally balanced, society will be stable and harmonious. If it is unbalanced, if it is very unbalanced, if the gap is too large, society will be in turmoil.

In the field of income distribution, there are problems of unfair income distribution and excessive gap, and the social response to this problem has been very strong. In recent years, at the annual two sessions of the National People's Congress, deputies to the National People's Congress and CPPCC members have put forward one of the more proposals, that is, income distribution. He is unbalanced, some people have a lot of social wealth, and more people are relatively difficult, so the essence of leadership art is balance. So we talk about communication and coordination only to achieve this balance and establish this harmony. Therefore, I say that the theory of Chinese medicine is completely applicable to management communication and relationship coordination, which is valuable.

Traditional Chinese medicine in China is one of the four quintessences of China, namely, traditional Chinese medicine, calligraphy and painting, Beijing opera and martial arts. An organization is like a complete machine, all parts must be intact, and the whole machine can operate harmoniously. Unless any part goes wrong, the whole machine will stop and turn into a pile of scrap iron, so your car can't turn. The responsible responsibility of leaders, managers and teams lies in finding and cleaning up those parts that are easy to get stuck in time, updating those defective parts in time, ensuring that all departments, parts and personnel can operate healthily and harmoniously, and making our cause move forward smoothly. This is the way that I think we can introduce the theory of Chinese medicine into our management communication.

The third theory is called the theory of folding in half, which means making a discount. The source of this theory, China Academy of Social Sciences did a study, in their research, found that there are three 50% phenomena in management, which was discovered by China Academy of Social Sciences, and there are three 50% phenomena in management. I later named these three 50% phenomena as the theory of folding in half, which I named. The three 50% phenomena are all half. 50% of the problems in management are caused by insufficient communication.

First, about half of the problems in management are caused by insufficient communication. Any team, department or organization has management problems. The next task is to quantify how many management problems your unit has. For example, there are eight questions, and then you go and have a look. Are more than four of your eight questions caused by lack of communication? Busy work, lack of communication, accumulated over time, was not a problem at first, but gradually there was a small pimple in my mind, and the pimple became tighter and tighter, and I couldn't solve it at last. This is a 50%, about half of the problems in management are caused by insufficient communication.

Second, 50% of management problems need to be solved through communication, and the person who tied the bell is needed to solve the problem. Because you didn't communicate enough in the past, there was a problem, two problems, three problems and four problems. There is no other way to solve these problems, the only way: communication and dialogue. Everyone should have such a consciousness that not all problems in management can be solved with money, money is not everything, some problems can be solved with money, and some problems cannot be solved with money. What problem? For example, trust crisis, trust crisis, can you solve it through money? You can't buy the word trust if you give him 1000 or 10000. Therefore, it is still necessary to solve it through communication, communication and heart-to-heart collision.

Third, managers should spend 50% of their time communicating.

This is the third theory, the viewpoint of China Academy of Social Sciences. There are three 50% management.

The levee of a thousand miles collapses in the ant nest, so leading cadres should have the consciousness of preventing the slow progress, attach importance to and strengthen daily interpersonal communication, and prevent problems before they happen.

The fourth theory, called four-dimensional theory, is four-dimensional. This theory is foreign. The author's name is Bazeta. In 2005, he wrote a book called Leadership Communication. The author proposes that communication has four dimensions. I call this theory the four-dimensional theory. What are the four dimensions of communication?

The first is called overt hostility. That is, as the main body of communication, when you communicate, you are dominant, but you are hostile to the other side of communication, and you regard him as the enemy and the opposite. This is the first dimension of communication, called overt hostility. This is obviously not good.

The second element obeys hostility. Obedience means that you are not in the dominant position. You are always accommodating, submissive and hostile. This is even worse. This is not as good as the first one. This kind of communication can't have a good result at all. The third dimension is called submissive gentleness. Obedience is not dominant, it is submissive, it is accommodating, but the attitude is not hostile, but it has become moderate, which is not good either. The fourth dimension, which is what we need to choose, is the best one. Remember, this is called the dominant mild type. All our communication subjects, everyone here, when we communicate in any way, we should choose moderation. Domination, we must play a dominant position, not completely dominated by the other side, you must be able to dominate, you must control, this is from a standpoint. Attitude must be moderate, democratic, enthusiastic, free and relaxed, and this atmosphere and culture need to be promoted. We talked about condescending, pressure-driven and executive orders, which are not good. This is the result of foreign countries.

These four different dimensions have different requirements in different aspects. I won't go into details about leadership style, planning and decision-making, organization and control, incentive mechanism, disagreement handling and communication. Remember that there is a theory that the first, second and third dimensions are not well spread, and the fourth dimension is the best. What's so good about it? Dominant mild type. I'm afraid we should try our best to apply and practice it in communication practice.

The above is my second basic theory of communication.
