Xu Xiutang, 1937 12, was born in a purple pottery family in Shushan, Yixing, and is a master of arts and crafts in China. He is currently the vice president of Wuxi Tea Culture Research Association, a visiting professor at Jiangnan University and a visiting professor at Wuxi Vocational and Technical College. Award-winning works include Sitting in the Eight Monsters and Learning Painting in Sesshū Tōyō.

His works have won many awards in exhibitions at home and abroad, and have been collected by Metropolitan Museum of America, Victoria Museum and British Museum, Royal Belgian Museum, Palace Museum, Nanjing Museum and Shanghai Museum.
