Xu Shi's four brothers,, and, are collectively known as the Hui Four Masters. Boss Xu Guanwen is a director, screenwriter, producer and actor. Xu Guanwu, the second child, works as a behind-the-scenes film and photographer.

The third child, Xu Guanying, is a comedian and singer. The fourth child, Samuel Hui, is an actor and singer. Among them, Xu Guanwen and the second child, Xu Guanwu, are twins. Because Xu Guanwu doesn't often appear behind the scenes, Samuel Hui, Xu Guanwen and Xu Guanying are called the "Xu Shi Brothers".

Samuel Hui, born in Panyu, Guangdong in 1948, came to settle in Hong Kong with his family in 1950.
