Taoism: What is "Pigu"?
I don't know when it started, and the health care method of "Pigu" became popular.

Not to mention the distance, there are many friends and colleagues around me who are keen on "breaking the valley".

However, to be honest, most of the reasons why they like to "cross the valley" are out of herd mentality. Of course, some people began to accept the health care method of "crossing the valley" after getting sick.

As for what is "broken valley"? They don't know, anyway, someone said yes, just try. This is the psychology and current situation that many people are keen on "breaking the valley".

So, what is the so-called "broken valley"

In fact, "Pigu" is a Taoist way of keeping in good health, and it is also one of the most commonly used ways of keeping in good health in ancient times.

The so-called "Jun" and "Avoidance" refer to avoidance or avoidance, while "Gu" refers to five kinds of grains such as japonica rice, red bean, wheat, soybean and millet in Huangdi Neijing. Of course, there are also different views.

Therefore, "crossing the valley" refers to a way of keeping in good health that tries to avoid the interference and influence of "five grains" on the body, that is, "not eating five grains" for a certain period of time.

According to the Taoist classic Zhuangzi Xiaoyao, namely:

"The ancient Sheshan reserve advantage, there are people who live in peace. If the skin is ice and snow, if you are a virgin, you don't eat grains, suck the wind and drink dew, ride a dragon on a cloud, and travel around the world ... "

It can be inferred that "Pigu", as a way of keeping in good health, originated in the pre-Qin period and was popular in the Tang Dynasty, and has continued to this day.

In other words, the principle of "Pigu" is actually a health care method that combines Taoist "breathing" with alchemy by controlling people's diet.

Because Taoist theory holds that most diseases are from the mouth, and people eat mainly "five grains", therefore, this way of "avoiding five desires" can provide opportunities for the stomach and the human body to rest.

For example, "Bigu" can thoroughly clean the intestines, excrete feces, enhance the digestive efficiency and absorption capacity of the gastrointestinal tract, and solve diseases such as enteritis and colon.

Another example is "crossing the valley", which can also solve the obesity problem.

However, if you think that "breaking the valley" is fasting, you are wrong.

Because the correct method of "crossing the valley" is not achieved entirely by "hard hunger", but by combining Taoist health preservation with the method of eating gas and gathering gas, otherwise, "hard hunger" is likely to cause great harm to the body.

Therefore, "breaking the valley" is not something that everyone can do, but needs the guidance of people who know "breaking the valley" to be effective.

Of course, for the vast majority of people, "broken valley" is just a short break after work such as weekends or small holidays, and its purpose is to detoxify and clear the body.

In fact, few people can really "break the valley" Taoism.
