Fitness instructors do not advocate sit-ups. Why?
For fitness, sit-ups have two biggest disadvantages.

First, the exercise effect is not high. First of all, you should know that the most exercisable part is not the abdomen, but the buttocks and thighs. Generally speaking, to do sit-ups, you need someone to help you hold your feet down, or you can hook something yourself to do sit-ups. Because you need strength to stand up. And if you don't hook something under your feet or no one helps you hold it down, you can easily lift your feet and can't do sit-ups. This is because when you do sit-ups, your hips and thighs exert force, and you need something to stop the reaction, otherwise, your legs will be lifted.

Because there are too many places where sit-ups exert strength, compared with the effect of abdominal exercise, it is not as good as abdominal rolling exercise, and it is not as good as squat exercise to exercise hips and thighs. Therefore, this kind of tasteless exercise is not recommended by general fitness coaches, and the exercise effect is too low. It's better to separate the abdominal rolling exercise from the squat exercise, which is not only more efficient, but also better.

Second, the load of sit-ups on the spine is too large, which is harmful to the spine. Let me tell you this: when doing sit-ups, the butt is the fulcrum, and the legs and spine are the arms. When you get up, you put more pressure on your legs and spine, especially the spine near your hips, which bears the most load. Why sit-ups, where the feet are pressed, are particularly uncomfortable? This is because there is a reaction, and your feet have received such a big reaction. You can imagine that there must be a reaction on your body. This reaction force acts on the spine, so the pressure on the spine will be great.

Because you want to exercise, the number of sit-ups you do every day is definitely not small, and the load of each exercise is not very large, but too much will cause excessive spinal load and backache. Other people's back pain is muscle pain, and your back pain is too much spinal load. This is different.

You should know that the spine is the dragon of the human body, and there are many nerves. Controlling the whole body is inseparable from the spine. The importance of the spine is self-evident. If you rely on sit-ups, it is easy to hurt your spine. This kind of exercise is not worth the loss. So the fitness instructor will not encourage you to do sit-ups. The exercise is not effective, and there are injuries. This kind of thing can only be said, and it is ok to do it occasionally.
