I am a novice in fitness. I have low back pain, abdominal pain and leg pain. What's the problem?
Why do squats hurt your back and abdomen hurts your legs?

This kind of problem, I believe everyone will encounter similar problems more or less in the training process. The cause of these problems is probably a local problem, that is, our hip joint!

So before starting today's discussion, we should have a preliminary understanding of hip joint.

1. What is the hip joint?

Introduction of hip joint.

The hip joint is an accessory bone. In the middle of human body, femur and pelvis are closely connected by joint capsule and ligament, which is the central position connecting lower limbs and upper limbs.

Hip joint is the joint that bears the maximum weight and load of the body in daily life. At the same time, we need this joint when sitting, lying, standing, walking, squatting and jumping, so our hip joint needs both good flexibility and strong stability.

2. Hip function

Hip joint is a kind of ball-and-socket joint, and ball-and-socket joint is the most flexible joint type, which can move in all planes. On the sagittal plane, flexion and extension can be completed; Abduction and adduction can be completed on the extra plane, and external rotation and internal rotation can be completed on the cross section.

Because the hip joint is very flexible, our current work and study environment leads to the joint being fixed in one position for a long time, which easily leads to the lack of flexibility of the hip joint.

However, in our training and even life, many problems are caused by the lack of flexibility of the hip joint.

Second, the impact of insufficient flexibility of hip joint on us

When the flexibility of the hip joint is not enough, because the flexion angle of the hip joint is insufficient when squatting, the pelvis will rotate below a certain position, so it is possible to complete a complete squat. However, this will cause unnecessary shear force on the lumbar spine, which is easy to lead to low back pain and is a hidden danger of sports injury.

If you want to improve the soul activity of this joint, the most important thing is to increase the strength of hip flexors. When the strength of hip flexors is sufficient, the flexibility of hip joint will be improved a lot.
