Zhongshan National Fitness Square is an important livelihood project of Zhongshan Municipal Government. The square was built in two phases. The first phase was completed and put into use in early 2003, with an investment of120,000 yuan (including 2 million yuan from provincial and municipal sports lottery public welfare funds). The second phase of the project invested 8 million yuan (including provincial and municipal sports lottery public welfare fund 1 10,000 yuan), which was completed and put into use in early 2004.
