Body fat% =( 1.2 * body mass index) +(0.23* age) -( 10.8* sex)-5.4; (Sex coefficient: male 1, female 0)
Refer to the following table for body fat percentage:
The changes of LBM and body fat are different in age, sex, body shape, race and heredity. The onset of puberty is often accompanied by a sharp increase in LBM, which is more obvious for men and girls. The percentage of body fat of adult women is higher than that of men, while LBM is only two-thirds of that of men. In later adulthood, the average LBM of men and women decreased slightly.
The ideal body composition state of human body is greatly influenced by age and sex, and the composition can be divided into five grades according to the percentage of body fat.
The research shows that the fluctuation of adult LBM is less than the change of body fat, and the fluctuation of adult weight is mainly caused by the change of body fat. LBM of all ages is linearly related to height. Orientals are usually shorter and lighter than whites, so LBM people are also shorter. Height and weight are affected by heredity, as are LBM, total fat content and skin fold thickness.
