Is it normal for the treadmill to rustle when running?
Normal, this is the sound of the treadmill belt rubbing.

Friction is also called noise. The state stipulates that the running noise of treadmills should not be higher than 72 decibels. Measure the distance of one meter from the treadmill motor. If it exceeds the standard, you can ask for a replacement or return.

The noise of the treadmill mainly comes from two aspects:

1. The sound made by the treadmill itself when it is running.

The treadmill is driven by a motor, and then the running belt is operated by an idler; This series of electromechanical and mechanical operation processes will inevitably produce certain sounds. The standard requirement of a brand-new treadmill that has just left the factory is to run on an empty platform (5 km/h), and the sound measured within the range of treadmill 1 m is not higher than 70 decibels, which is also the protection standard of noise in living environment. However, with the constant wear and tear of various running mechanisms of the treadmill, the sound value generated by it will gradually exceed 70 decibels; However, treadmills do not need to be used continuously for a long time every day. Unlike air conditioners and refrigerators, the average noise generated by treadmills is lower than that of some commonly used household appliances, such as hair dryers (85dB), vacuum cleaners (85dB), range hoods (85dB) and washing machines (80dB). Therefore, the mute requirements for treadmills should be practical, and the requirements for moderate operating volume and no abnormality should be reasonable. If you deliberately pursue the so-called motor mute and run silently, it is actually impossible and meaningless.

2. The sound of vibration during operation.

When the treadmill is idling, the noise is very small, but if you start running on the treadmill, in fact, the sound of footsteps and the friction between each step and the running belt will be mixed with the running sound of the motor, which will increase the noise value;

The impact on the downstairs is mainly the low-frequency vibration generated when using the treadmill, which has good penetration and is easy to vibrate with many materials and structures in life, and even achieves the amplification effect.

The following measures can be taken to solve the problem to the maximum extent:

A. Choose a treadmill with its own weight greater than 170 kg, because its body is stable and it is not easy to vibrate; Do not choose a treadmill with self-weight 100 kg; Because the fuselage is thin, it is very easy to vibrate during operation, thus amplifying the noise.

B. Place the treadmill in public activity areas, such as balconies and living rooms.

C under the treadmill, put a special treadmill foot pad. Block the conduction of low-frequency vibration and noise.

D put the treadmill in a horizontal position as far as possible, which can reduce the vibration of the machine.

E choose the right exercise time, and don't run the treadmill in the early morning or late at night. Avoid affecting the normal work and rest of neighbors.

F. Choose sports shoes and soft-soled running shoes correctly.

G. Increase the slope by 2-3%, so that the footboard leaves the ground, further blocking the noise.

H regularly check and maintain all connectors of the treadmill, and fasten and apply lubricating oil.

As long as we can understand the principle of noise generated by treadmills and take corresponding measures, we can avoid noise to the maximum extent and exercise in a harmonious environment.
