High-intensity exercise enhances memory
The health benefits of high-intensity exercise are well known, but a recent new study by McMaster University in Canada points out another important benefit: it can bring better memories. Scientists have found that six weeks of high-intensity exercise can significantly improve memory, for example, enabling us to distinguish our car from another car of the same brand and model.
In the study, 95 participants were divided into three groups, which experienced six weeks of exercise training, exercise and cognitive ability training and no training respectively. The group receiving exercise training and exercise cognitive training showed progress in the task of high interference memory, while the control group did not.
