How to design the whole wardrobe to be more practical and cost-effective?
On the APP, I often hear residents complain that "there is not enough closet space, clothes are inconvenient to take, clothes can't always be found, and it's easy to be in a mess ..." In fact, these are all because the wardrobe layout is not done well.

The scientific and reasonable wardrobe pattern should be customized according to each owner's needs and storage habits. How high is the hanging area? How big is the stacking area? How much should I put in the built-in drawer? All need early arrangement and planning. So today, let's talk about how to plan the wardrobe pattern, so as to achieve large-capacity storage space and make it more convenient for the owner to use.

0 1 ? See how Sumitomo subdivides the wardrobe.

A few days ago, we launched the "wardrobe pattern design contest" in the APP, and many residents shared the patterns of their wardrobes. Or shoot and mark, or hand-draw, and plan and design different wardrobe patterns according to the actual situation of your home:

Sumitomo @ChloMato:

1. The area on the map is used every day. There are many items in the season, and there are foldable clothes in the high and low places. Men and women are separated, with the upper part on top and the lower part on the bottom. Shoe bag accessories and fitness clothes are all drawable;

2. The Four Seasons Standing Area is a collection of shirts, suits, dresses and jerseys. , can be used at any time, regardless of the seasons, hanging storage;

3. The large storage area is mainly quilts, pillows, big clothes to be hung in winter, and all kinds of big things, including suitcases, folding ironing machines, skiing and other outdoor equipment;

4. The underwear area is a four-story wardrobe, and the drawers on each floor are all home clothes bottoming shirts, underwear, bra vests and socks, and each floor is separated from men and women by compartments.

Sumitomo @ Serious Jun:

Try to summarize the pattern of your home's painstakingly managed wardrobe in the form of abstract hand painting, so as to make the main points of storage more prominent. The total length of the two cabinets is 3.9 meters, and they are divided into five rows to store boys' clothes, household sundries, girls' clothes, electrical appliances and shoes. Clear and reasonable classification planning, let the daily storage behavior go with the flow. After using it for half a year, the lazy man said it was not a waste.

Sumitomo @ Grandma Sang Ma Hey:

I probably drew an ideal wardrobe layout with IKEA's self-help design software, hoping to make a wardrobe system with Aygit and sliding doors. You can put backpacks, purses and other large items on it, and fold the seasonal clothes below and put them in a white storage box. Because there is more dust below, you don't need to look at what's inside, so you don't need a net basket. The lower right corner can collect suitcases, storage boxes and shoe boxes. If there is still room, you can leave a place for the steamer on the right, which is very convenient to pull out and use.

Sumitomo @ Soup Potato:

Take my own half wardrobe as an example, and the storage layout is shown in the figure. It seems that there is no such thing as out-of-season clothes in my family. When choosing clothes, I only leave what I like and need. ), there is no seasonal storage box, clothes for all seasons are put here, and there is no need to change the layout all year round.

Sumitomo @ElaineZhang:

My ideal is to have a cloakroom, but for various objective reasons, I can only use five wardrobes in the end. Clothes are trivial. If you store them in several rooms, you can't remember where you put your clothes at all, which may lead to the forgetfulness of buy buy. So I hope that the wardrobe in the bedroom can store all the clothes in one step, without sorting out the wardrobe in different seasons. After continuous measurement and efforts, the wardrobe is stored and shaped.

Although the wardrobe is a custom wardrobe, it is found that there are too few drawers, the partition layer is too wide, the available space is not large, and it is easy to be chaotic. So we searched all the storage drawers of a treasure and found almost the right size. We put the drawer in a bent place and the partition in a place where we can take it directly, which instantly doubled the storage space of the wardrobe.

02 ? What kind of cabinet won't waste space?

In order to use the wardrobe space more efficiently, customizing the wardrobe is a way that many residents will choose. But how to customize it depends on the size of your home, the number of clothes, and even the type of clothes. Here are five ways to design a custom wardrobe, hoping to open your mind and find a custom way suitable for your home.

▲ gender division

The obvious wardrobe layout in the male and female areas can avoid the mix and match of clothes in the image of daily life from Sumitomo @ Shen.

▲ short partition

The spacing in the wardrobe should not be too large, otherwise the folded clothes are too high and easy to get mixed up when taking them, so short partition is a more efficient storage method. The picture comes from Sumitomo @ I often want to break water with my sword.

▲ Low hanging wardrobe

The hanging rod in the wardrobe doesn't have to be placed in a high position, and clothes hanging groups with different heights are arranged according to the length of clothes. Image from Sumitomo @ Little magoo

▲ Pull-out wardrobe

Pull-out wardrobe is a more efficient storage method, which makes full use of the depth of the wardrobe, is more convenient to take, and has no storage dead angle at all. The picture comes from the internet.

▲ Shelves+shallow drawers

If the drawer of the wardrobe is too deep, it is easy to turn the clothes upside down. Many shallow drawers can not only ensure the capacity, but also classify and store items. Image from Sumitomo @ jingjingjingjingjing.

03 ? Three principles that wardrobe layout must follow.

To have a good wardrobe, layout and zoning planning are the most important. Generally, the wardrobe will not change after you check in. If the planning is unreasonable, it will increase the time cost of daily cleaning and waste physical strength. The houses with mountains of clothes on chairs and sofas are mostly due to unreasonable planning, which leads to an increase in storage costs, thus reducing storage efficiency. Sumitomo @ Mei Yan shared with us her very high-energy wardrobe layout and three principles that must be followed when planning wardrobe layout:

1./ Proximity principle?

It means to shorten the moving line as much as possible. It is necessary to divide men's and women's clothes. Everyone's clothes in my family are stored separately. You can see all your seasonal clothes by opening a wardrobe door, and you don't have to open other cabinets to pick and choose. It's not a little easier.

▲ @ Meiyanjia's wardrobe layout.

For another example, my wardrobe is adjacent to the living room on the left and the balcony on the right. So the sundries that can't fit in the eight drawers in the living room are placed in the top cabinet on the left, and the ironing machine is placed on the far right, close to the balcony drying area. You can iron clothes when you take them out, saving time and effort. This all follows the principle of proximity.

2./ ? The folded clothes are stored in the golden area.

The so-called "golden area" refers to the area below the chest and above the knee when the user stands vertically. Lazy people don't like to lift their elbows or squat down to get things, which is too tired ... so, clothes with high frequency of use should be placed in the golden area! Unusual sundries or out-of-season clothes should be placed in the top and bottom cabinets. Come on, please send a signal to everyone:

3./ ? Hanging > drawers > cabinets

For a small apartment, it is a luxurious wardrobe that can be hung with all the clothes of the season. Clothes that are not often worn or out of season are always stacked and put in drawers. In the stacking area, drawers are the first choice. The storage capacity of drawers far exceeds that of lattice cabinets. Either there is a shallow layer in the grid, which wastes space, or it is full and there is no way to find clothes. It is often necessary to take it all out and spread it on the bed before you can take out the one you need. The square built with wooden boards simply accommodates black holes. Never make a lattice cabinet in the golden area!

You can't make drawers at the top of high cabinets, you can only make grids. The top cabinet has a visual dead angle, so you have to step on the stool to get something, so you can't see it. What should I do? Choose a suitable storage box, put things that are not commonly used in it, and then put labels on the outside, which is clear at a glance!

04 ? You can have the storage artifacts in these closets.

If you have bought a finished wardrobe and are not satisfied with its storage capacity, then don't worry, there are some auxiliary storage items in the wardrobe that can be used, and the capacity of the wardrobe can be doubled instantly. The following five simple and convenient auxiliary storage artifacts are shared with you. Everyone at Sumitomo is using it.

▲ Drawer storage box

Sumitomo @ Jingjing Jingjing said: This kind of drawer-type storage box is very common in Japanese household products. By stacking different sizes and models, space can be fully utilized. When changing seasons, you can regroup as needed, which is very flexible.

▲ Multi-layer storage bag rack

This kind of fabric has the advantages of multi-layer storage bag lattice, small occupation space and large storage capacity, which is very suitable for people with more T-shirts and trousers than shirts and coats. Image from Sumitomo @ Rococo

▲ Pull-out trouser rack

Sumitomo @ I want to add a few words. The pull-out trouser rack made by our family can hang 20 pairs of trousers at a time, and can be hung again after pressing. The biggest pain point solved by this slide rail is that the pants can be displayed at a glance, and there is no need to rummage through the cabinets.

▲ Ajit

Ikea Aygit storage basket is also a wardrobe storage artifact praised by Sumitomo. Free combination, easy to carry, and can be planned according to the number and type of clothes at home. Image from Sumitomo @ Rapeseed Z.

▲ Vacuum compression storage bag

Tuck in a small wardrobe and a duvet when changing seasons. At this time, as long as the storage bag is compressed by vacuum, at least two-thirds of the quilt volume can be saved! Image from Sumitomo @ jingjingjingjingjing.
