What's the difference between a treadmill and real running?
Treadmill and outdoor track are both good forms of exercise. The former pays attention to the effective control of training, while the latter is the verification and enjoyment of training.

1. Running on the treadmill is passive exercise, while running outdoors is active exercise. If the speed of the treadmill is 10 km/h, then you must drive your body at this speed (although you are in the same place, you still need to pay corresponding physical strength). It's different outdoors. To achieve this speed, you must actively spread your legs, swing your hands and move forward.

2. Treadmill is limited by running area, so it can only increase the speed and dare not expand the stride. Therefore, the common running posture is that the limbs swing frequently, but the amplitude is small and the pedals are not enough. When running on the road, the body will move forward slightly, the heel will push hard, and the toes will move forward to increase the stride.

3. Compared with the runway, the treadmill is used more, and there will be acceleration but insufficient stride. Especially when running fast, it will deviate from the best running posture, so the treadmill is better than outdoor running in correcting posture.

4. Different people feel differently on the treadmill. Some people find it labor-saving, while others find it laborious. But in theory, using a treadmill is more labor-saving and less physical exertion than running outdoors.

5. Due to the shock absorption function of the treadmill and the elasticity of the running belt, the pressure on the knees can be slightly reduced. Running on the road can not bring shock absorption effect to the knee, and because of the uneven road surface, it will bring more pressure to the knee. Running on uneven roads for a long time can easily cause knee and ankle injuries.

Generally speaking, treadmills are more suitable for normal training and beginners to correct their running posture. Of course, it is also the best choice in rainy and snowy days, and running on the road in the rest of the time is the best choice. Running on the treadmill or outdoors is better than sitting.
