Can fitness prevent Parkinson's disease?
Parkinson's disease, also known as tremor paralysis, is a common neurodegenerative disease in middle-aged and elderly people. This symptom may be related to aging, genetic factors, environmental poisons, infection, oxidative stress and free radical formation. To some extent, fitness can prevent Parkinson's disease. However, relative hypoxia, the increase of intracellular calcium concentration, the increase of body temperature, the increase of catecholamine level and the acceleration of hemoglobin self-oxidation rate during and after exercise can all cause the increase of free radicals. Fitness has no direct preventive effect on Parkinson's disease, but proper fitness can improve the body's antioxidant capacity and be beneficial to health.
