1999 won two first prizes in the international traditional Wushu and stunt competition held in Taizhou, Zhejiang. At the closing ceremony, he represented the China team in the performance of the conference.
From June to 10, 2002, he was appointed as a visiting professor at Jeonam University of Science in Korea.
In March, 2003, China Martial Arts magazine gave a wonderful introduction with pictures and words to his Kirin Boxing.
In June 2004, he was invited to give lectures in Switzerland, and then went to France and other places to perform. In June+10, 5438, he participated in the first World Traditional Wushu Festival on behalf of China team, and won the first-class boxing and soft-ware (gold medal) with absolute superiority.
In June 2005, he was hired by Hebei Institute of Physical Education as the first visiting professor in history, and he was the first to teach traditional martial arts. In July, in the National Wushu Classic held in Huaibei City, Anhui Province, he won the first place in three events: octupole boxing, sparring and meteor hammer, among which octupole boxing was the highest score in this competition. Due to outstanding achievements, he won the mayor's special award in September. In June+10, 5438, he won the "National Fitness Family" trophy awarded by the State Sports General Administration (his son Liu is an "excellent athlete" and is now a member of Hebei Sports Team, and his daughter is a fencing champion in the national championship and is now a member of Bayi Team), becoming the only family in Cangzhou history to win this honor.
In July 2006, he won the first place in the heptathlon in the 4th International Wushu Competition held in Hangzhou.
In March, 2007, he won three gold medals in the 5th International Wushu Festival held in Hong Kong, among which Kirin Boxing won the drill style award specially awarded by the organizing committee. In April, 2007, he won the title of "International Wushu Master" at the first International Wushu Conference held in the south of Wudang, Hubei. In May, he was invited by CCTV's "Wulin Congress" program to be the judge of Bajiquan Competition, and was awarded the title of "World Famous Martial Artist" in September.
In the 3rd Hong Kong International Wushu Competition in February 2008, Liu Lianjun won the first place in the middle-aged group of MC2 octupole boxing, Kirin boxing, Kirin gun, Thirteen Whips, Miao Dao and Errenzhuan (octupole boxing) and the second place in all-around.
