It can be roughly divided into six categories: Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, martial arts, medicine and folk, among which Confucianism believes in Taoism on this issue, but in fact there are only five categories.

Interpretation refers to Buddhist qigong.

Buddhism was introduced to China in the 10th year of the Han Dynasty in the East (AD 67). During the 400-500 years from the Three Kingdoms and the Jin Dynasty to the Southern and Northern Dynasties, the translation and research of Buddhist scriptures developed day by day. During the Sui and Tang Dynasties, Tiantai Sect, Huayan Sect, Wei Zhengzong, Zen Sect, Pure Land Sect, Tantric Sect and many other sects with China characteristics gradually appeared. Buddhist qigong originated from Buddhism, and some of it has been circulated among the people, so its achievements cannot be equated with religious beliefs. Because Buddhism is divided into different sects, their cultivation methods are also divided into different qigong schools. Buddhist Qigong mainly focuses on meditation and spiritual activities. Can produce some qigong functions and practice Buddhism.

Tao-here refers to Taoist qigong. This Taoist school is an academic school with Laozi and Zhuangzi's "Tao" theory as its core in the pre-Qin period. Traditionally, Laozi was the founder of Taoism, and Zhuangzi inherited and developed Laozi's thoughts. Later, some Taoist organizations that believed in Laozi recognized Laozi as the originator of Taoism. In fact, before summing up the theories of "Tao" and "Morality", Lao Tzu also learned the cultivation thoughts of predecessors. People who worship the "moral" theory for thousands of years have practiced themselves according to this theory. Some have organized religions and added other purposes, but all have the same practice content. Generally speaking, Taoist Qigong has a common feature, that is, it is practiced according to "tranquility and nothingness" and "quietism". Laozi believes that people should be weak, not strong; People should be stupid, not smart; People should do nothing, have no ego, have no desire, be modest, be pure and natural ... I think weakness can make people humble, and stupidity can abandon China and take reality. Everything is natural. Taoism worships "Tao" the most, and Laozi thinks that "Tao" contains the principle of all things, which is intangible, silent and qualitative and eternal. "Tao" can't be expressed in words and words, and it depends on the mind to understand it. The ontology of the universe is "nothing". When Tao has the function of creation, everything comes into being, which can be called "being". This "existence" is the function of Tao. People should do nothing, have nothing, have no wisdom, be ignorant, have no desire, have no ego and have no ego in order to reach the highest state of Tao. Laozi thinks that a moral person is like "water". Water has three characteristics. First, it can nourish everything. It gives everything without taking. Second, the water is weak, which is naturally indisputable; The third water is in an inconspicuous place. Moral people pay water and everything, but don't expect anything in return; Be humble like water in a humble place; Like a deep and clear water, a moral person is silent; Water reflects everything with its shape. A moral person is sincere and never hypocritical. Water is weak and can be round; If people can imitate water, they will have the effect of "benefiting all things" and "humility", so they are close to "Tao"

Taoism believes that moral cultivation is divided into Taoism, morality, benevolence, righteousness, propriety and wisdom, which conforms to Taoist thought and everything should be natural. People think that we should cherish our bodies and lives and should not pursue fame and fortune excessively. It takes energy to gain fame and fortune, and it's not worth losing your life. The selflessness of heaven is only beneficial to all things. If you try to help others, you will become richer and richer. Because saints can imitate the heaven of "benefiting without harming", the result is "doing without fighting", and the world cannot compete with it. The spirit of giving is more blessed than receiving, and it is a great moral behavior not to strive for fame and fortune.

Physician's Qigong, which aims at medical fitness, absorbs and integrates various self-exercise methods beneficial to disease prevention and treatment. Here, it intersects with Taoism and Buddhist Qigong. Taoist and Buddhist qigong can not only keep fit, but also cure diseases. Physician qigong also contains elements of Taoist and Buddhist practice and practice. For example, "indifferent to the air", "debauchery and wealth are all empty", "abstinence" and so on. For these, we should actively absorb its essence and discard its dross from the perspective of materialism, so as to make the past serve the present.

Folk Qigong-refers to all kinds of Qigong spread among the people, including all kinds of Qigong handed down from family and teachers except Buddhism and Taoism. Folk qigong crosses with physician qigong and martial arts qigong. China's Qigong has a long history, and its achievements are vast, claiming 3,600 kinds, which shows that the foundation of Qigong in China is solid.
