If the two teams draw in 90 minutes, it will take 30 minutes of overtime. If they draw again, it will be decided by penalty kicks. This tournament started in 1877-78 season, and the winner of the Welsh Cup can qualify for the Europa League next season.

The Welsh Cup is open to all teams in Wales, and English teams are often invited to participate. Historically, 15 Welsh Cup winners have all been English teams. Swansea, Cardiff City and colvin Bay did not participate in the Welsh Cup in 201-12 seasons.
