Statues recognized as symbols of sports and bodybuilding are:
Discobolos is a replica of marble, about 152 cm high, and is collected by the National Museum of Rome, Vatican Museum and Thorma Museum. Originally used as bronze, it was made by the Greek sculptor Miron around 450 BC. This work is a milestone in the ancient Greek sculpture art, which indicates that the Greek sculpture art has fully matured. The sculpture depicts the most expressive moment of a strong man in the process of throwing discus. The center of gravity of the statue falls on the right leg, so the right leg becomes the axis to make the whole statue freely expand and rotate, while maintaining the stability of the statue and praising the beauty of the human body and the vitality of the movement, which reflects the ancient Greek artists not only in artistic skills, but also in artistic thinking and expressive force. This statue is regarded as "eternal solidification in space" and is still the best symbol of sports.
