University of Memphis is an American public research university, founded in 19 12, near the bus stop in Memphis, Tennessee, USA. It is the flagship of the board system of Tennessee Public Research University. The University of Memphis, formerly known as Tennessee Normal University, changed its name from 19 12 to 194 1, and finally decided to be the University of Memphis. The school started postgraduate education from 1950 and enrolled the first batch of doctoral students from 1966. At present, Memphis College is one of the three institutions of higher learning in Tennessee that provide extensive and comprehensive doctoral education. Now the school enrollment is close to 2 1 000. At present, the University of Memphis has 25 outstanding presidents and 5 centers of excellence approved by the state. The university has the Department of Journalism and Public Relations, Earthquake Research and Information Center, Cecil Fries Law School, Rubenberg School of Nursing, FedEx Technical College and Egyptian Institute of Art and Archaeology. Its mathematics department has the largest number of Oudes in the world's mathematics research institutions.
