September 25th is the first lawyer publicity day in China. By August 3rd this year, there were 668 law firms with 8,287 registered lawyers in Beijing. After investigating the working and living conditions of lawyers in Beijing, the reporter found that the income of lawyers was extremely low when they first entered the business, and the quality of their working and living was deviated. However, with the increase of working hours, various conditions improved rapidly, that is, the phenomenon of raising the "old" instead of raising the "small" appeared. What needs to be explained here is that "old, middle-aged and young" here does not refer to the age of lawyers, but the working hours of lawyers.
"Old" lawyers-less sense of crisis after becoming famous.
As the director of Beijing Yingke Law Firm, Hao Pingping, who has worked for more than ten years, is not only busy with the cases he represents, but also busy with the daily management of the firm. She works between 12 and 16 hours every day, and works almost every day every month. Hao believes that despite the fierce competition in the lawyer market, she has accumulated a lot of customer resources in her lawyer career for more than ten years and created a certain popularity in the industry, so she did not feel a great sense of crisis.
Fitness in foreign travel clubs
Hao's leisure activities mainly include two aspects, one is traveling with his family, and the other is keeping dogs. She drives her family to the suburbs every weekend and spends more than 1000 yuan each time. Besides, she travels abroad once a year. In order to exercise, Hao got himself a membership card of a fitness club. Hao told reporters that as she grew older, she began to pay attention to the brand of clothes. Many of her clothes were bought abroad. Excluding the weekly travel expenses, Hao estimates that the monthly daily expenses are at least 5,000 yuan.
Having a house and a car has a high income.
There is no positive answer to Hao's income. She thinks that her income is not much among lawyers, but she should be more successful as a lawyer. Hao told reporters that now she pays more attention to the process of making money. In her words, "the purpose of making money is to stay young forever." Hao has bought three properties with a total price of more than 3 million, and is going to buy another house in the near future. She is also going to replace the Jetta King, which has been driving for many years, with a Subaru car (produced by Fuji Heavy Industries, with a price ranging from 300,000 to 500,000, equivalent to the BMW 3 Series) at the right time.
Lawyer China-Life is full of pressure.
As a formal lawyer who has worked in deheng law offices for many years, Li Xiaoming has to work more than ten hours a day, 24 or 5 days a month. She admits that the current work pressure is great and the industry competition is fierce. As highly educated people continue to enter the ranks of lawyers, their professional knowledge needs to be constantly supplemented. With more and more employees, the pressure of case source is increasing, and it is more and more difficult to win customers. In addition, after China's entry into WTO, many unfamiliar fields have emerged, which will also make lawyers feel very stressed. However, she said that compared with the initial stage, the current situation is on the right track.
Love to be emotional and often go for an outing.
Li Xiaoming's leisure activities in his spare time are mainly to travel to the suburbs of Beijing, and then to read books and go shopping. Instead of joining a special health club, she chose to play basketball at a school near her home. Li Xiaoming usually likes to go to restaurants with emotional appeal, and his clothes are generally brand clothes with desirable styles. Li Xiaoming told reporters that her daily expenses are about five or six thousand yuan per month.
Middle-income house and car
Li Xiaoming estimated that her annual income this year was between 654.38 million yuan and 200,000 yuan. She thinks this is not high in the whole lawyer industry, and even the middle level is difficult to count. Li Xiaoming hasn't bought a house yet, and plans to spend 600,000 yuan to buy a house of about 100 square meters in the urban area next year. She smiled and said that because she has no sense of direction, she has no plans to buy a car in the near future, but she can still afford it.
A "little" lawyer-a busy case is hard to protect.
Lawyer Zhang is an intern lawyer in a law firm. In the interview, he repeatedly stressed that he could not disclose his name and the name of his office. He said that because he could not represent the case independently, he only worked six or seven hours a day and five days a week. Although the intensity of work is not great, because the source of the case is not guaranteed, the psychological pressure and sense of crisis caused to him are still great. To this end, he intends to study PhD, participate in social activities as much as possible, and increase his competitive weight. Lawyer Zhang has repeatedly stressed to reporters that as he has just finished his one-year internship, he will change from an intern lawyer to a formal lawyer. His present working and living conditions are far from satisfactory. He is worried that if he uses his real name, it will cause a bad impression on his clients and even affect his future work, so he resolutely refuses to disclose his name and company name, which can also reflect the fierce competition in the lawyer industry.
Cycling, outing, running and fitness
Due to limited income, Mr. Zhang's main leisure activities on weekends are cycling outing and running and dancing in the community to exercise. Regarding the brand of clothing, he said that he had no special requirements for the time being, but borrowed money to buy a better suit because of his work needs. Now his daily expenses are between 600-700 yuan per month.
Those with the lowest income have bright prospects.
As a lawyer who has just become a full member, Mr. Zhang's annual internship income is only 13400 yuan. A trainee lawyer is "doing more and earning less". Lawyer Zhang believes that trainee lawyers have the lowest income in the whole industry. However, he said that he can take cases independently after becoming a full member, and his income will be greatly improved. The house he lives in now is a 40-square-meter bungalow lent to him by a friend for free. He intends to add up the existing 654.38 million in his hand and buy a house of 400,000 to 500,000 by stages in the next two years. Lawyer Zhang said that due to limited income, he would not consider buying a car in recent years.
The income of lawyers increases with the increase of working years.
According to the survey of Beijing Lawyers Association, in 2002, 58.7% of Beijing lawyers had a fixed monthly salary of 2,000 to 6,000 yuan. The proportion of people owning private cars is 3 1.5%, of which 45.6% own private cars with a value below 65438+ 10,000 yuan, 37.5% own private cars with a value of 65438+ 10,000 yuan to 300,000 yuan, and 16.9% own private cars with a value above 300,000 yuan.
As can be seen from the above data, the overall income level of lawyers is higher than the average income level of society, and lawyers are undoubtedly a high-income profession. No wonder so many people take the qualification examination for legal practitioners every year.
The income gap between lawyers is very large. In the legal profession, there are not only barristers who have been in the profession for many years with an annual salary of one million, but also interns who have just been in the profession for about one year with an annual salary of only over 10,000.
However, it should be noted that the income of lawyers increases rapidly with the increase of working hours. Although the income of trainee lawyers is very low, many trainee lawyers contacted by reporters have never wavered in their lawyer career. They think that the nature of a lawyer's job is similar to that of a doctor. With the increase of working hours, personal customers and professional knowledge will continue to accumulate, and income will inevitably be a long-term increasing process. Unlike ordinary company employees, they will gradually decline after the age of 35.
But before that, all trainee lawyers will inevitably experience a short period of relative poverty, and once they become full members, their income will increase rapidly year by year.
