When it comes to Chen Xingjia, many people may first think of various labels, such as "personally sending 87 officials to prison", "network celebrity county party secretary", "switching to public welfare", "Tsinghua gifted scholar" and "idealist". After reading his autobiographical essay "The Horn of the Xiajiang River" recently, I have a more complete and in-depth understanding of this legendary figure.
Sincerity, magnanimity, purity and sunshine are the most distinctive styles of this book, and they are also the character characteristics that Chen Xingjia has never changed along the way. There are some people who went out of the mountains and were admitted to prestigious schools by reading, some who had a smooth career at a young age and won the appreciation of their leaders, some middle-aged people who chose another track in pursuit of their life ideals, and some people who insisted on doing public welfare to help more people, but these experiences were all concentrated on one person, and only one Chen Xingjia was achieved. The reason why he can become a legend is by no means the effect of a certain factor or the influence of an accidental event, but his pursuit of his own heart, his persistence in compassion and his unyielding pursuit of his personal ideal.
He is full of gratitude to his mother, who taught him to love others and made him understand that everyone deserves to be loved, especially those who are in trouble and need help. Regarding his wife, he is full of attachment. She resolutely gave up her job in a big city and came to the mountains to accompany him, giving him romance, expectation, suffering and beauty in love, firmly supporting him when he made every decision, accompanying him when he was suffering from depression, and taking good care of and educating his son when he was busy with his studies and work. He cherishes studying in Tsinghua. When preparing for the exam, he insisted on studying until late at night or even dawn every day. After entering school, he "mobilized every cell in his body to catch up" for his studies, and finally realized the spirit that actions speak louder than words and saw what kind of person he would eventually become.
As for his well-known work experience in Badong, he is full of sincerity to the people of Badong. As the leader commented on him, "You can see rare idealism in Hangjia. An idealist, the goal is not so specific, so he will not slack off because the specific goal has been achieved, nor will he be discouraged because the goal has not been achieved. " In all his stories, there are no regrets about personal choices, no regrets about bad luck, and no complaints about suffering. On the contrary, he is full of gratitude to those who have influenced him, helped him and understood him, whether they are relatives and lovers, teachers and classmates, friends and colleagues. He is more affectionate, true and kind to those who serve him and those he loves. The sadness and helplessness revealed in several places in the book are also due to the failure to better help the people he loves.
When Chen Xingjia's son wrote down the most important thing his father taught him, he said, "We should not forget the road we traveled, the people we sympathized with, the justice we appealed for and the respect we longed for. These things form the basis of our universal meaning deeply rooted in the life world. It is this foundation that allows us to experience loss, taste temptation, experience disillusionment and accept ridicule in various worlds in the future, and will not easily wash away our background color called "* * *". " People's life will always experience such choices and temptations, success and failure, such shocks and setbacks, happiness and beauty. But how many people can have and hold their own "foundation", so that they can remain noble in the dust, keep their vitality forever, keep their initial heart in prosperity, and never go with the flow?
It is recorded in Shi Shuo Xin Yu Pin Zao that Huan Gong Shao is as famous as Yin Hou, and often has a competitive heart. Huan asked Yin, "Are you as good as me?" Yin Yun: "After dealing with me for a long time, I'd rather be me." This sentence of Yin Yun was used by Chen Xingjia at the end of the book. I still remember the first time I heard that he didn't understand when he resigned as the county party secretary and turned to public welfare. Now I understand that the county party secretary and his participation in public welfare is his consistent interpretation of "I would rather be me". We can't live Chen Xingjia's life, but we can learn to be like him, still love the world after recognizing the truth, and walk calmly to the end of the world on the life path we choose.
