Qigong is a physical and mental exercise skill that regulates the body, breathing and heart. Qigong should be included in psychotherapy, but it cannot really cure cancer. There are two main known qigong treatment schemes:
1. Qigong Therapy Act I: Through practicing Qigong, the purpose of treatment is achieved. Because practicing Qigong is often a set of low-intensity aerobic exercise, the human body absorbs a relatively large amount of oxygen during exercise, and the quality of life and survival rate of a considerable proportion of cancer rehabilitation practitioners during rehabilitation and conservative treatment are significantly higher than clinical expectations;
2. Qigong Therapy Act II: When Qigong masters perform Qigong therapy on patients, it is actually a psychological hint to patients. Under the suggestion and guidance of Qigong master, the patients are in a happy mood and face life positively.
Through the above two kinds of scenes, qigong can often achieve the important significance of improving the quality of life, reducing anxiety and controlling weight in the rehabilitation process of cancer patients.
Qigong seems to have spread to the extreme. In fact, there are less than 40 medical Qigong personnel in China. Some reported so-called qigong's curative effect on cancer is often proved to be a trick of charlatans. There is often information exchange and even collusion between "Qigong masters" and patients. Whether it is effective or not depends on the "qigong master" or the person being treated. Although many people have been boasting that Qigong can be used to treat cancer syndrome, there is still a lack of real case reports that Qigong masters have successfully cured tumors and hospitals have identified them as cancer patients, and there is also a lack of scientific and authoritative arguments to prove it.
As early as 2000, state administration of traditional chinese medicine issued an interim regulation that Chinese medicine hospitals can set up specialized departments of medical qigong upon application, and the personnel engaged in medical qigong need to pass a special examination and hold a certificate of medical qigong skills. However, an embarrassing situation is that 15 years have passed, and this qualification examination has never been conducted publicly. It can be seen from this aspect that the treatment of Qigong has always been controversial.
