Why is the traditional gym going out of business?
Traditional gymnasiums have existed in China for twenty or thirty years, but it is difficult for them to survive because of homogeneous competition, heavy sales and light operation, and single income model.

According to incomplete statistics, in the past three months, 20 gyms in Beijing alone closed down. It is reported that by 2020, the total scale of sports consumption in China will reach 1.5 trillion yuan.

Recently, many traditional gyms have upgraded their stores to a "small but beautiful" model, that is, dividing different areas and offering different paid courses at different times. From the traditional annual card payment to course payment, the customer retention rate and repurchase rate have increased from the original 15% to more than 40%. This not only improves the management efficiency of the gym, but also provides consumers with more scientific and reasonable services.

It is worth noting that the courses in this new gym are all designed for women, while small groups and small courses are more likely to form community attributes and emotional connections. It is reported that by 2020, the sports population in China is expected to reach 435 million. Compared with more than 17% fitness users in the United States, China's fitness popularization rate of less than 1% is still very small, which also shows that the potential space in the future is huge.
