At first, the rice dance was a four-person dance, and later it developed into a six-person dance, which evolved from a simple style to a variety of styles. By changing the action and beating the rice barrel in different directions, the "music" and dance achieved a harmonious effect.
When Li people hold a wedding, women get together and put rice in a big wooden mortar. Four or six people each hold a wooden pestle and beat the rice into rice. Slowly, when they waved the wooden pestle, they added some movements, so that the monotonous collision between the wooden pestle and the mortar turned into a rhythmic collision, which evolved into a dance with strong self-entertainment, reflecting the industrious, docile and flexible character of Li women.
With this rhythmic music accompaniment, I don't feel tired even for an hour or two. This cheerful and straight action of beating rice naturally presents a bodybuilding dance.
Li women are hardworking and kind, and rice-turning dance embodies this feature. In fact, in daily life, the husker is a dancer.
