Skiing is a competitive sport. Athletes put their skis under their boots and accelerate, jump and slide in the snow. Snowboards are made of wood, metal and plastic.
Alpine skiing includes downhill, slalom and slalom (slalom). The alpine skiing mixed event consists of the above three events.
People slide on the snow in a standing position, with ski pole in their hands and skis on their feet. "Standing", "board", "snow" and "sliding" are the key elements of skiing.
With the development of skiing (especially modern competitive skiing), the number of events is increasing and the fields are expanding.
The main events of world competitions are divided into alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, freestyle skiing, biathlon skiing and snowboarding.
Each major event is divided into many minor events, and dozens of dazzling national competitions and winter Olympics gold medals inspire people to fight hard and share.
Pure competitive skiing has distinct competitiveness and particularity, and the relevant conditions are strict, which exceeds the ability of ordinary people to have and adapt.
Tourism skiing aims at entertainment and fitness, and is lightly restricted by human factors. Men, women and children can easily and happily slide on the snowfield and enjoy the endless fun brought by skiing.
Alpine skiing is regarded as the essence and symbol of skiing because of its breathtaking, graceful, free, dynamic, attractive and wide participation, and it is also the first choice and main project of tourist skiing. People's skiing skills are usually evaluated by alpine skiing.
Classification of skiing
1. Practical skiing
Practical skiing has been used in forestry, frontier defense, hunting, transportation and other fields, and now it has been replaced by mechanical equipment, gradually losing its former application value.
2. Competitive skiing
Competitive skiing is to sublimate skiing into using the function of competition to achieve the purpose of competition under specific environmental conditions.
3. Entertainment, fitness and skiing
Leisure fitness skiing is a mass skiing sport developed to meet the needs of modern life and culture.
The above three skiing sports are basically the same in equipment, venue, equipment and sports technology, but their functions are quite different from other aspects.
The latest tourist skiing events include snowboarding, ultrashort snowboarding and cross-country skiing. Among them, cross-country skiing is a long-distance skiing in low hills (flat land, downhill and uphill each account for about 1/3).
Although it is far less fun and charming than alpine skiing, it covers a wider range of safety and fitness. Ultra-short snowboarding and snowboarding (stepping on a wide snowboard with both feet) are more exciting and flexible than alpine skiing, and have not been widely developed in China.
Modern skiing
Modern skiing can be roughly divided into three categories: alpine skiing, Nordic skiing and freestyle skiing.
Alpine style: skiing refers to sliding down a snowy slope. Its name comes from the downhill movement in the Alps, including various skills and movements, three of which are the most basic movements: straight down, crossing and turning.
Nordic style: skiing includes cross-country skiing and platform skiing, and its name comes from the fact that this sport originated in Nordic countries. Cross-country skiing is the most popular skiing method.
Freestyle: Freestyle skiing is actually a stunt. Performers come down from the steep and rugged snow slope, and at the same time perform other thrilling stunts such as jumping, kicking and even somersaulting.
