Shougang Ski Center is the venue for freestyle skiing and snowboarding in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
Shougang ski platform consists of three parts: runway, referee tower and grandstand area. Track length164m, width 34m and height 60m. After the skater slides down from the platform, he will complete somersaults, gyrations and other technical actions. During the Beijing Winter Olympics, Shougang Ski Platform will produce four gold medals.
The design concept of Shougang ski jumping draws lessons from the flying elements in Dunhuang murals. The reason why it can become the only snow competition venue located in the urban area of Beijing Winter Olympics is that ski jumping is a sport deeply loved by young people. Second, the selection of Shougang Industrial Park can fully reflect the concept of sustainable development of Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, perfectly integrate the winter Olympic culture with Shougang industrial sites, and create a classic case of perfect integration of oriental culture and Beijing old industrial sites.
Shougang Park is located in the park. The main structure of the main workshop of Shougang's original oxygen plant has not changed, but the triangular steel bracket above and the horizontal crown beam below have been retained. After repair, it has met the requirements of Beijing Winter Olympics. During the competition, it will become a place to serve the audience. The audience experience area on the first floor provides about 1 1,000 square meters of audience rest space, and the second to fifth floors will become the Games-time management office, providing comfortable indoor space for staff.
Shougang cooling pump station has also been transformed into a security inspection area for spectators during the Games. The original main structure and the outer cover of the roof cooling tower have been preserved. The first floor serves as a ticket channel for spectators' security inspection, and the second floor serves as a rest place for competition managers and staff. The third floor retains its original functions, and four refrigeration units will provide energy, perfectly combining Shougang's industrial heritage with the operational requirements of the Winter Olympics.
There are also many difficulties in the transformation of Shougang's old industrial park. The original factories are all industrial buildings built according to the design principles of industrial production, and the transformation is to make them supporting functional houses to meet the needs of the Olympic Games. Therefore, the renovation project should not only meet the requirements of civil building design specifications, but also meet the professional needs during the Olympic Games.
