The site is located at the junction of Paotai Town and Deng Gang Town, Jiedong County, Jieyang City, less than 20 kilometers away from Jieyang and Chaoshan City. The airport serves eastern Guangdong with a total area of more than 30,000 square kilometers, radiating parts of southern Fujian.

In addition, the local government is considering declaring this airport as an international airport, and has also planned an airport economic zone of 190 square kilometers to develop the airport economy.
