According to today's headline data, Zixing City is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Hunan Province, managed by Chenzhou City and located in the southeast of Hunan Province. Named after the Tang Dynasty, the old county government was located on the Zixing River (today's Dongjiang Lake), and it was one of the birthplaces of Chen merchants. Zixing City is located in the upper reaches of thunder water in Xiangjiang River basin, at the western foot of Luo Xiao Mountain range and at the southern end of Chayong Basin, which is the intersection of Hunan, Guangdong and Jiangxi provinces.

According to the data of Zixing Municipal Government, as of May 15, 2023, Zixing has two streets, nine towns and two townships, including Dong Tang Street, Dongjiang Street, Chukou Town, Sandu Town, Lijiang Town, Xingning Town, Zhoumensi Town, Huangcao Town, Tangxi Town, Qingjiang Town and Bailang Town.
