Tsinghua Jianmeitui
The sculptor is carving the Greeks. Heracles the Archer is a masterpiece of modern sculpture, which is the common sense of art lovers. Ironically, a few years ago, Tsinghua Art Museum held an exhibition of Boodell, and Heracles the Archer is still on display as a signboard. In Tsinghua, see how Boodell's sculpture returns to ancient Greek and Roman mythology _ Art Review-Paper and now there is such a familiar "original" work on the lawn of Tsinghua? And the expressive force is so far worse than the original?

In addition, it is pointed out that the "Houyi shooting day" is unnatural because the legs are pushed back and there is no sense of exertion at all. In fact, I think the rest state of Hercules in Boodell is the classic of this sculpture. The general archer sculpture image (such as Apollo) is shaped as standing archery or especially correct kneeling archery posture. Boodell's classic design lies in the sense of strength and picture concentration brought by the long-span posture with the left leg pushed forward. However, "Houyi shoots the sun. The author may have created this particularly weak posture in order to avoid suspicion, and as a result, the expressive force of the original is gone. Ps: You should show the beauty of the back of Budel's works. Indeed, Boodell didn't choose the most classic image of Heracles in The Lion's Skin in this work, probably just to fully show the incomparable beautiful deltoid teres major in this tight posture. Musculus trapezius minor of latissimus dorsi.

As for the posture of "Houyi shooting at the sun", it feels more like a bodybuilder's twisted posture, except that there is no full bow between his arms and no sudden movement under his feet, so that his muscles are particularly uncoordinated. It might be better to cover them with wild boar skin. After all, it is "easy to sleep in the mulberry forest." I think it's very simple to deal with the problem that Houyi's sculpture of foreigners shooting at the sun appears outside the Tsinghua Art Museum. It is suggested that Tsinghua University change the name of this statue to "Alo Medas in Hua Mu's dream pays tribute to Houyi Shooting Day".

Put a sign next to the statue to explain the story. Alo Medas is a demigod warrior in ancient Greek legend. In his famous oriental adventure, he heard that in ancient times, there was a demigod hero named Houjie in the far east. He once shot down the sun in the sky to save all people. Alo Medas said: "This is a feat, and I want to pay tribute to Hou Yi." So he took out his bow and posed for the sun. When his friend saw it, he was anxious and quickly persuaded: Apollo, the sun god, is not easy to mess with. If you desecrate him, he will surely bring us disaster. Arlo Medas said, "I have always respected Apollo, but I also think that Hou Yi's behavior deserves our respect. Besides, if there were no spare sun from Hou Yi, would Apollo be today? " So Arlo Medas decided to just make a bow, but he didn't shoot Apollo with an arrow. This not only pays tribute to Hou Yi, but also saves Apollo's face and reminds Apollo that the sun in the east is also the sun in the west.

Many readers may realize that there is no Alomidas in Greek mythology. Never mind, put another sign on the other side of the statue. The sign reads: "The content of the opposite sign is actually a dream of Hua Mu. Who's Hua Mu? The spirit of Tsinghua Museum. When she saw the western-style statue of Hou Yi shooting at the sun, she felt a little confused. Seeing the gesture of shooting at the sun also touched her dream at night, dreaming that an ancient Greek hero named Alo Medas paid tribute to Hou Yi.

After this naming and naming explanation, the value of this work of art has been greatly improved. The artistic implication is very profound. Eastern culture, western culture, the blending of eastern and western cultures, the gaze of western culture on eastern culture, and the re-gaze of eastern culture on western culture are unfolded through this interpretation. It is full of deconstruction, reconstruction, re-deconstruction, re-reconstruction, non-traditional narrative, multi-perspective focus, nonlinear interpretation and so on. Liberalism, native conservatism, integration of Chinese and Western, Westernism, feminism, fetishism and even so-called western pseudo-historians can all interpret rich metaphors and intentions from their works.

This statue is bound to become a punch-in spot for online celebrities in Tsinghua, and objectively, it will greatly increase the popularity of the art museum. Woodenhead, an artist, should be pleased with this, right? This is probably the most famous work of his life. It doesn't matter if he doesn't understand. It is estimated that the contract for building the statue will not expressly stipulate that Tsinghua University is not allowed to make any naming changes. If you are really dissatisfied, you can make a speech. Fighting is more interesting, and it will become a major event in China's literary and art circles in the 1920s. Many people can join in the discussion and debate, and Tsinghua's position in the domestic art world can also be improved.

The face of this sculpture is western, the way of shaping naked muscles is western, and the way of pulling the bow with four fingers is also western, which absolutely shows that the orientals are not shooting at the sun, not to mention Hou Yi! Moreover, after the bow and arrow are pulled open, the bowstring can hit his thigh, without any sincerity or common sense! In addition, orientals knew tens of thousands of years ago that clothes were made of leaves, bark and hides. Besides, Hou Yi is a tribal leader. How can there be a naked tribal leader? This is the spiritual idol of the sculpture artist of Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts, but it is definitely not Hou Yi.

In Boodell's sculpture, Heracles's left leg was pressed on the stone in front of him, which formed a kind of force collision and extrusion, and finally the knee of his right leg became the main focus. After the bottom is stable, the upper body's bow-pulling and archery movements tend to stretch backwards, so the whole sculpture gives people a stable, expressive and powerful visual feeling. The twisting of the pelvis and chest further strengthens this feeling. On the other hand, the whole dynamic design of Professor Tsinghua's work completely fails to take into account the role of concentration in forming a sense of strength:

First of all, this sculpture doesn't focus on the feet at all, and its strength doesn't squeeze each other. All the forces on it are scattered, and it feels like floating in the air. Secondly, the chest and pelvis of this sculpture are not distorted, and this dynamic design does not match the powerful character scene at all. Therefore, the biggest problem with this work that should be full of strength is the lack of strength. Perhaps the author tried to strengthen the length of the forearm to form a sense of strength, but the problem is that the structure is completely wrong and out of touch with the body. As shown in the above analysis, the transmission of the sense of strength is gradual, not caused by the sudden strengthening of a certain trunk part, but can only form a strange impression. Of course, this is the secondary reason compared with the single overall dynamic design and the lack of sense of space.
